This deck is a little different from the meta decklist as it is more focused on being a midrange deck. Sulfurous Springs is a good replacement for fetch lands as it deals 1 damage every turn, which is very good at losing life long game. If you fetch into shock, that is 3 damage in one turn which is good for losing life quickly, but sulfurous Springs loses 1 life a turn which equals out after 3 turns and does more damage after 4 turns.
