I would love to see a sideboard for this deck. So far it's really awesome, would just like to see what you would put in a sideboard. I'm honestly drawing a blank excluding removal/disruption like Duress and Ultimate Price

I'm really not sure what to do for a sideboard, as my meta is really control heavy and I don't know how to take care of that. My goal is just to steamroll them.

Disruption like Duress and Transgress the Mind really hurt control. I play control, game one against you is rough, but the extra Kozilek's Return I board in is really painful for you. As are Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet and Chandra, Flamecaller. A couple of Ruinous Paths and To the Slaughter/Ultimate Price should fix that and make games 2 and 3 easier for you. All those options are also really good against the W/B midrange decks that are getting kind of popular and the removal is good against the base white aggro strategies. Eyeblight Massacre Would also be good for those match-ups

Thank you Chainer_the_Dementia_Master for the suggestions, I put most of them in but when running 18 lands having two mann symbols in a cost is iffy at best.

Fair enough. That's pretty much all I have though. Deck is super fun to play, and it runs well.

Actually, I lie, Evolutionary Leap is probably a good option for you as well.

Thinking of splashing white using the pain lands or maybe the SOI peak lands and removing Might of the Masses in favor of Eerie Interlude.

April 24, 2016 11:19 p.m.

That wouldn't be a bad idea, but might make you less consistent. If you're splashing white, I think there needs to be a bigger reason for it. Just think the deck's better black/green.

I don't have Collected Company so I may sub those slots in for Eyeblight Massacre. If I cant rush creatures in, then I may as well clear his board out.

I'm definitely building this deck tho.

Here's what I did with your list. Let me know what you think. I kept the creature count in tact. Instead of CoCo, I ran with Nissa, Vastwood Seer  Flip and Nissa, Voice of Zendikar... Then I added in Eyeblight Massacre to control the board, as well as Duress, so I had to take a couple off of Foul-Tongue Shriek and Might of the Masses

All Elves!

Sorry if the description is a bit much, I'm also working on my coding skills.

Taking this to tonight's FNM, I'll report on how it goes.

I was wondering if Ezuri, Renegade Leader would make sense in the deck.

RustBeltGames, it would if I wasn't playing standard.

Thanks for the suggestion and upvote though! :)

Anyones thoughts on a Nissa, Vastwood Seer  Flip would be appreciated.

She's decent for Shaman of the Pack's trigger. But her flipside is kind of geared towards landfall/ramp decks. Might as well go for Nissa, Voice of Zendikar for the pump and tokens.

The only reason I'm considering Nissa is to help smooth out the land curve.

May 9, 2016 10:10 a.m.

I'd say yes. It's really more of a bonus if she flips.

May 9, 2016 10:18 a.m.

I'd say take out a Dwynen, Gilt-Leaf Daen and a Sylvan Messenger if you consider Nissa, Vastwood Seer  Flip

Read everything you wrote cover to cover. Seems legit.

I like all the forced loss of life from Shaman of the Pack and Foul-Tongue Shriek. It seems good for business.

I'm curious if you ever even get to use Nissa, Vastwood Seer  Flip? She is an elf before you flip her, and 3 mana for a 2/2 that grabs you a forest isn't bad I suppose. She's actually better before you flip her I think. It seems that Sylvan Advocate might be nice there for 1 less mana and a bigger body that just gets bigger. It works better if you can use Nissa's ultimate and make a bunch of land creatures, but I don't see games lasting long enough for that. Just a curiosity. Dwynen's Elite is another solid option that gives you two elves for 2 mana which seems pretty nice in this deck.

Also, why not Leaf Gilder or Lifespring Druid? They don't have the same creature-specific mana so you could use it for Might of the Masses, Collected Company, or towards creatures. I suppose you are right that 31 creatures doesn't exactly exclude that mana from getting used so maybe that's not even worth looking at here.

As far as sideboard, I like Bone Splinters as a nice cheap option to kill something big and all it would cost you is one black mana and something like an Elvish Visionary. Too bad it isn't an instant though. Grasp of Darkness works too and obliterates anything you'll find in a Bant Company deck (we have 2 or 3 of these regularly at FNM...) Also Clip Wings is a great way to deal with Ormendahl, Profane Prince if you have anyone that plays with Abby, but also Dragonlord Atarka and Dragonlord Ojutai. Those two see a lot of play for me locally. Display of Dominance could be nice if you have B or U control issues at all. Buy yourself a free attack maybe, or just protect your mana producers early on to maintain your ramp. We also have a lot of Sphinx's Tutelage players and Natural State is pretty much automatic. Pulse of Murasa is a personal favorite. Perhaps it's best suited in Draft which is where we used it to great effect, just a thought.

Well, just many thoughts. Of course I have a lot of my local meta in mind here, and I don't know what you've already tried. Out of everything, I think the best suggestion I have would be to replace Nissa with Dwynen's Elite because of the 2 for 1 effect that works great to fuel Might as well as that Shaman and it's one less to cast. Sideboard is all subjective to your local meta so take your pick. I don't see anything particularly wrong with what you've got up there already though other than not really needing both Path and Slaughter.

I like the deck, and congrats on your win at FNM :)

Thank you for taking the time to respond so thoughtfully, now for my reply

The Nissa is still in a trial period as its only reason in here is to help me hit my lands and thin my deck. I'm never really tring to get her to flip

I'm running a playset of Dwynen's Elite, did you not see them?

As for the Leaf Gilder and Lifespring Druid, they don't perform as well as the Savant. The druid costs to much, but might find a home in a more mid-range build. And the Leaf Gilder's not having haste is awful, because more often than not I'm either swing with the savant or tapping it immediately.

With the sideboard I meant to have Natural State in there over the To the Slaughters but haven't gotten around to fixing it yet, thank you for reminding me. I'll try to find a spot for Clip Wings though, and like you said the Pulse is more for draft than for this deck.

Lol I did miss that, the layout made it a little harder to notice when I went back up after reading that you already had them. Whoops :)

Savant does have haste... that was retarded, I missed that too. I don't have a standard green deck so I'm less familiar with current mana elves. I wish I had more of these cards, I think it would be fun to play as nobody is running elves at my local fnm. Control is stupid popular though.

When I took this to FNM it caught everyone of guard, and so many people were like "Wow, he's running elves, I didn't know people ran elves". This also got me my first first place win

And at my meta it is SOOOO much control or white weenies and they all netdeck them so it's like *Wow, I know exactly what you're running
