Go Squadron Hawk!!That's what you should be thinking to yourself as you play this deck.
Search for powerful equipment with Stoneforge Mystic, equip them to Squadron Hawk, and get ready to beat face! Meanwhile, slow your opponent down with Jace, the Mind Sculptor, Gideon Jura, Elspeth, Knight-Errant, and the multitude of counterspells, like Force of Will. Celestial Colonnade is a backup plan if your equipped Squadron Hawk is unable to get through.I'll give a quick rundown of the important cards in this deck.
Squadron Hawk and Stoneforge Mystic: No explanation needed
Force of Will: The best counterspell in the game. Also, tis is a legacy deck, so it's an auto-include.
Brainstorm: Really good card advantage. Also, if you put back two Squadron Hawks and play a third one in your hand, your Brainstorm essentially acted as an Ancestral Recall.
Swords to Plowshares: Exile a creature for 1? Yes, please!
Counterspell: This can slow your opponent down; at worst, you force them to use a Force of Will to counter this.
Sword of Body and Mind
: Blue is a huge color in legacy, so this was the most obvious choice.
Sword of Feast and Famine: In my opinion, this is one of the better equipments against many decks. Forcing them to discard a card can give you a huge advantage, and untapping your lands can allow to drop your whole hand in one turn.
Umezawa's Jitte: I don't think I have to explain this one. It's just really, really good. If it wasn't legendary, I would have played a full four of them.
Sword of War and Peace: A little bit of damage and a little bit of life can go a long way.
Batterskull: This is a ridiculously good piece of equipment. You can just play it with Stoneforge Mystic and get a 4/4 with vigilance and lifelink for 2. Built-in evasion is also really good too.
Gideon Jura: He's a really expensive Fog with other great abilities.
Jace, the Mind Sculptor: Can win games all by himself. Extra Brainstorms and Unsummons are great too.
Elspeth, Knight-Errant: She can give me blockers when I need them, pump up Squadron Hawk to swing in for the last few points of damage, and can make everything I own indestructible. What more could I ask for?
Any feedback from you guys would really help me, especially with the sideboard, as I'm generally not good with making sideboards for my decks.
