With the new food support that came out in Tales of Middle Earth and coming out in Wilds of Eldraine, I figured it was time to go back and crank out a new deck focused around one of my favorite build-around cards, Junk Winder.

This dude makes Modern budget friendly due to his cheap price tag as a versatile centerpiece. By running him in conjunction with cheap token generators, it's easier to keep up with the insanely fast meta of the format without feeling like you're handicapping yourself by playing budget. He has a big body, built-in cost reduction, and a tap-down payoff that keeps a lot of creature-based decks at bay until you can find your own win condition. Incidentally, this payoff also counters strategies featuring The One Ring and other powerful artifacts that need to tap and untap to do their thing.

In this case, I included Rampage of the Clans as my big win-con since it takes advantage of the all the food tokens I'm producing. With Junk Winder out, Rampage's downside of providing my opponent with centaurs becomes a negligible side effect since they all get tapped down anyway. On a similar note, running Winder also means I'm able to use Pongify as my 1 mana removal spell since the ape I give my opponent will also eventually get tapped down anyway. I was thinking of running Resculpt instead due to a better variety of targets it can hit and the possibility of even turning my own food into a solid 4/4, but from I've heard, good interaction for mid-range decks like this in the format need to be 1 mana instead of 2 unless they do something nuts.

Any help from more experienced Modern aficionados is much appreciated.
