@Human_Rogue_21: Perplex is too expensive for a soft counterspell that is relatively easy to evade. Transmute can't make up for that downside.

@nbarry223 hey thanks for the several proposal on budget generals but i already play Varolz, the Scar-Stripped on 1v1 ===> Garbage_Nauseam
I really like playing Black&Green sadly i always play against Animar, Soul of Elements , and it's been hard sometimes i feel like i need blue for a better control on the board , i'm waiting for the next BUG general while getting those fetches :)

interesting that you are considering Gitaxian Probe . plus sides are that it is 0 mana and draws you a card and could forewarn you for any counterspells, that being said, it only targets one hand leaving 3 other players to have their hands hidden. i would sooner run a tutor or Stifle . about Stifle , i shall assume that Trickbind is 2 much mana>

@Droxium: Stifle is currently being tested as a solution to Hermit Druid and other ability-based decks.
Trickbind , although good, is more expensive. In counter wars, every drop of mana counts; the less you have to spend to counter something, the better your position afterward.

I observed that there are 10 cards in this deck listed in the French Ban List, to wit: Mana Crypt , Mana Vault , Necropotence , Vampiric Tutor , Sol Ring , Imperial Seal , Crucible of Worlds , Strip Mine , Sensei's Divining Top , and Mana Drain , what would you suggest as substitutes for these cards so as not to lose its competitiveness in Duel Commander...

This deck is not very well suited for French EDH. The top lists in French do not rely heavily on ramp but run more tempo/control. They would much rather grind their opponent down than to combo out. Also this deck is very explosive to get to the higher costed cards, it would be ineffective against French EDH decks if it followed the banlist.

have you ever considered before Bloodchief Ascension for multiple players matches? the quest counters add up fast, and it really helps tempo managment. even better when you get into counter wars.

@corpus.delicious19: French EDH is very different from traditional EDH. This list doesn't transition very well to French rules because it relies on those ramp and utility cards for its explosive power.
@Grimgrinner: Bloodchief Ascension is not useful in this deck. In tournament-level multiplayer EDH games, life totals rarely matter. Everything is about the combo, and a slow-to-start life loss engine won't really be much of a deterrent. It adds little in the way of tempo.

Do you have other EDH's or is this the only one? Also, if you don't have others, have you thought about making a second EDH?

I have a casual Rafiq deck that isn't publicly listed, and I'm going to be making a casual Naya (and maybe a semi-competitive RUG) deck soon.

Interesting. Sounds cool. What will the Commander's be for the R/U/G and Naya EDH's?

Hoping the Riku of Two Reflections EDH Deck would come out soon. So excited for it.

I want you to know, Jace, the mind sculptor page on Facebook, is doing a semi casual competition via some Skype thing.
As an example for what isn't casual, they mentioned this deck, so I linked it.
I apologize if that was unwanted.

@Maiset: Gainsay is a bit limited. Flusterstorm was discussed a bit earlier, and I'm on the fence about it.
@vampirelazarus: I actually used to post for the JTMS page as Tezzeret, but I don't have the time to continue the commitment. My girlfriend posts as Liliana. Either way, more publicity for this deck is, in my book, a good thing.

Oh. Well, that sounds fun.
The girlfriend part, not the being too busy to post about Magic.

Oh, and I also noticed that you have Glen Elendra Archmage in your sideboard and mainboard.

@vampirelazarus: The sideboard is a list of cards I'm considering dropping, and the maybeboard is a list of cards I'm considering adding.

I just thought of something...Are you allowed to grab banned cards like:
Griselbrand , Primeval Titan , Protean Hulk , Sundering Titan , Emrakul, the Aeons Torn , and even off-color cards like: Karakas
with Living Wish ? If so, that is totally worth including instead of Chromatic Lantern 's spot.
You could do even more degenerate things with Death Wish if that's the case. I'm not at all sure on if you are allowed to or not, and would really like to know now that I've thought of this...
Does anyone know the rulings on this?

nbarry223 says... #1
Not a hard counter, but the things it can transmute into are pretty nice... Probably not worth it simply because it's not a hard counter. If they really want the spell to get through, they will discard their hand. For three mana, it needs to be a hard counter.
