After starting Magic with Mono Black Devotion I saw 8-Rack floating around online and at tournaments. It looked like a fun deck to pilot and I liked the thought of stripping your opponent’s resources from them a card at a time and having them take damage for the favor. It wasn’t as fun to pilot as I thought because I didn’t know the decks in Modern and wasn’t smart about which cards to take. I love seeing the deck piloted by people who know how to play it and it’s interesting to see the different variations from traditional 8-rack, to Smallpox variants up to today’s current more midrange strategies. Maybe someday I’ll take this deck out again.
