$25 Turn 3.5 Soulflayer

Casual BR (Rakdos) Budget Combo

Sideboard

Maybeboard

A combo deck, essentially. The goal is to try to power out a Soulflayer with max keywords as soon as possible---as the title indicates, this deck can pretty reliably land a Soulflayer on turn 3 or 4 with flying, double strike, deathtouch, haste, hexproof, indestructible, lifelink, trample, and vigilance. Needless to say, unless your opponent has a board wipe you're favored at that point to win the game.

If you're interested in how quickly the deck can typically goldfish out a super-souflayer, I have a bunch of data ---the headline stats are that we can Soulflayer by turn 4 (fast enough for this budget format) about 55% of the time on average.

Filtering is key to success---a hand without at least one (preferable more) of Faithless Looting and/or Cathartic Reunion is almost always a mulligan. Stinkweed Imp pulls double-duty in the deck. He's great at filling the yard with Soulflayer targets like Zetalpa, Primal Dawn s and Spark Trooper . But he can also help find Soulflayer; as long as we have a Call to the Netherworld in hand, we can dredge aggressively to dig out our win condition.
