Typical lists run a playset of Atog and bank on eventually drawing into their one or two copies of Fling to end the game. They also run 17 lands which resulted in the pilot losing to himself more often than not due to poor mulligan outcome. Having an early Atog without any way of leveraging board position is awkward and can be counterproductive especially in an aggro matchup like mono green stompy.

This is my take on affinity featuring a full playset of Gearseeker Serpent and 18 lands. This build forgo the swingy Atog/Fling combo for a stronger mid game and aggro matchup with the inclusion of evasive beaters like Auriok Sunchaser. Due to the improved manabase, less mulligan is needed.
