nuperokaso on Orzhov Sacrifice Clerics

Don't play Karoo, Sunlit Marsh, Goldmire Bridge and The Fair Basilica.

Instead play Shambling Vent, Isolated Chapel, Caves of Koilos, Silverquill Campus, Shineshadow Snarl, Orzhov Basilica, Brightclimb Pathway  Flip, Fetid Heath.

Shaile, Dean of Radiance  Flip has no real synergy with your deck. Replace it with Bygone Bishop, which is a good Cleric

This type of decks is usually called "Aristocrats". If you really want to be a sacrifice deck, you should add additional cards that trigger whenever a creature dies, such as Sanguinary Priest, Rotlung Reanimator, Blood Artist or Cruel Celebrant.

Drahydra on Lurrus requirements vs MDFCs

Can I have Lurrus of the Dream-Den be my companion if I'm building a Shaile, Dean of Radiance  Flip commander deck? Does Lurrus's requirement care about the total value of the card, or only the "front" value of the card? Related to that, could I cast the back side of Shaile from my graveyard using Lurrus's ability?

You… do know Wizards already did that, right? On Strixhaven, the 10 deans of the colleges are mdfc’d with the other dean of the college.

Anyway, carry on.

The title pretty much sums it up; can I (for example) play Lurrus of the Dream-Den as my companion for Shaile, Dean of Radiance  Flip, even though her other side is the 4-drop Embrose, Dean of Shadow?

This rule

The converted mana cost of a modal double-faced card is based on the characteristics of the face that’s being considered. On the stack and battlefield, consider whichever face is up. In all other zones, consider only the front face. This is different than how the converted mana cost of a transforming double-faced card is determined.

Is not helping me understand at all. Thanks for any clarification :)
