Another close multiplayer loss. Turn 3, I used an Abzan Charm on Seth's Goblin Researcher in response to it being targeted by Sudden Breakthrough. I was holding up mana to kill Krenko, Mob Boss but Logan, on Flubs, the Fool, was kind enough to kill it on his turn. Turn 4, I named Seth with Saskia the Unyielding and hit him for 6. Turn 5, I played Herald of the Host. I could have killed Seth on turn 6 but Jesse targeted me with a Do or Die, one of so many fun games his The Celestial Toymaker enjoyed. I chose for it to destroy Saskia the Unyielding so my turn 6 Gratuitous Violence meant Seth took 8 instead of 56. I never got a turn 7 as Seth's goblins took me and Jesse out, giving the game to Logan.

Won a game last week! Low turnout meant Jared and I played a few one vs. one commander duels. Jared was colour screwed. Missing green for his Bilbo, Birthday Celebrant deck, he folded to a Saskia the Unyielding, a Herald of the Host and Fiery Emancipation, which was the final nail in the coffin, forcing a chump block or two.

Trading out some myriad stuff for things that are generally better. While Myriad is fun and pretty powerful in a group, most creatures in this deck are legendary (which is bad for Myriad), and sometimes I play 1v1's, where Myriad is a dead card.

I tried two of my favorite decks. Isshin and my Rebbec/Glacian partner deck.

Isshin was a 4/10 which seems kinda crazy because I don't think any Isshin deck can be a 4/10 without purposefully limiting yourself. lol It also lists Myriad creatures like Herald of the Host as a Stax piece, which makes no sense. Adeline, Resplendent Cathar is also listed as Stax.

Rebbec/Glacian is a 6/10, which, to be honest, sounds fairly accurate. That deck does have two alternate win-cons, though. Not sure how those affect the score? Again, Stax is mentioned heavily in this deck and it lists Darksteel Forge as Stax, which is confusing to me. lol

In any event, I'm glad something like this exists and I hope it gets to the level that you want it to be at!

Have you had a chance to play-test your deck irl yet? I think you have a mixed variety of attack triggers, but some of them kind work against each other. Is there a particular direction you're interested in with Isshin, or do you have a specific budget in mind?

If you're interested in an Exalted route, I think you can trim out a decent chunk of creatures above your 4 cmc range. An effect that works pretty well with Isshin and also helps shore up one of the limitations of Exalted are the Myriad creatures. Myriad token copies are never declared as attackers, since they enter tapped and attacking, so you can still get your Exalted triggers & attack all opponents instead of just 1 at a time. You already have Duke Ulder Ravengard, & could lean more into it.

All Exalted Creatures in Mardu colors. The ones I think could be great in your deck:

• Genasi Enforcers - Comes down early & can buff itself

• Hammers of Moradin - A personal favorite in my Isshin deck. I like being able to tap down 2 creatures per board to make attacks a bit safer & more damaging.

• Battle Angels of Tyr - The most expensive money-wise, but an excellent upgrade if you would want to go that route. More of a "catch up" effect.

• Elturel Survivors - Can punch well.

• Herald of the Host - Budget alternative to Battle Angels of Tyr.

If you decide to lean more into Myriad, you could also run effects like Corpse Knight, Impact Tremors, & Witty Roastmaster to squeeze even more damage out of all your Myriad tokens entering the battlefield.

I hope these suggestions are interesting and helpful. I'd be down to discuss potential cuts if you're interested.

Yeah, I know that Survivors' ability doesn't double up with Isshin. My token loving heart can't help but love the idea of attacking with it and making like six X/4 tokens with Isshin, though!

You are 100% right about Battle Angels of Tyr and Devilish Valet. Those are two cards that I've been wanting to add but I just don't know what to cut for them. (I'd like to keep Herald of the Host if possible. The more Myriad creatures, the better!)

Hey so KBK7101, I came to the realization (with a lot of help from others) that myriad is fantastic in Isshin. And I originally thought to myself, 'Elturel Survivors is amazing in this deck, auto-include!" However, I came to realize that while the trample+myriad aspect is amazing, Survivor's triggered ability is unfortunately not an attack trigger, and so won't be doubled up by Isshin. While making 5 X/4s with trample is still awesome value, just checking that you see the non-bo. One card I have been considering for a while which is adjacent in my mind, is Devilish Valet. Has the trample, also has haste, and if you're making a lot of tokens, it grows exponentially, so at just five tokens produced, it becomes a 32/3. While not myriad, it could easily eliminate one opponent at that power.

One other recommendation, I would 100% switch out Herald of the Host and put in the Battle Angels of Tyr you have sitting in your next update area. Almost the exact same stat line (yes, minus the vigilance, I know), but with massively better triggers. And if all 5 hit, you get 5 triggers of its ability to resolve.
