Polaris on Vizier of the Menagerie works …

No, the abilities don't actually interact. Animar, Soul of Elements reduces the mana cost by some amount of generic mana, down to a miniumum of removing all generic mana pips. Vizier of the Menagerie applies when you actually go to pay the cost by allowing you to spend any type of mana to pay it.

So for example, if you were to cast Simic Sky Swallower and had 10 counters on Animar, the cost would be reduced by up to . In this case, that would reduce the cost by , leaving you to pay. Because of Vizier, you could pay any 2 mana you had available for the remaining cost.

First of all, thank you, Andromedus and Xtough, for coming here, taking the time to write a comment, and sharing tips. It means a lot, and I’m sincerely grateful.

Regarding your suggestions Andromedus: I’ve been back and forth with the Moxes and the Vial. I started the deck with four Chrome Moxes, then cut them, added them again, and have now removed them. I’m still uncertain. Most Taxes run Vial to help dodge counterspells, play through Ethersworn Canonist’s restriction, and give a kind of “flash” line to creatures (e.g., Leonin Relic-Warder). I understand your point, but the advantages of Vial are hard to ignore. I’ll keep experimenting with the Moxes, though.

Regarding your suggestions Xtough: excellent catch. I had misread Angel of Destiny as legendary. It isn’t. Linvala is, though (SB). And Karakas may also be useful to bounce back opponents’ legendary creatures. What do you think?

Thanks again for the thoughtful feedback and for helping me refine the list. I look forward to your further thoughts and suggestions. With appreciation, cheers and best regards.

@legendofa updated. Just picked my go-to artworks for now to make the necessary changes; will worry about aesthetics later. Huge thanks, that little mouse fellow was just what this needed. My only worry now is that since I’ve opened the door to , there’s about a million other directions this could be pulled in. I think I like how it plays so I’m not necessarily interested in fundamentally altering it, but it’s enticing. Lots of +1 counters and buffs is definitely the other path I’d take it. Thanks again, as always.

Venum,

Sorry to spam but I finally remembered why I cut Defense of the Heart - it's hit or miss and more often than not it misses hard. Let me explain, so in my playgroup poison generally gets focused down on early in the game. With DotH on the field everyone immediately bands together because they already know that either two praetors or Blightsteel Colossus is hitting the board. Sure, I can maybe get rid of one or two players but more often than not I just get dealt with. In short - I cut it because of the bad politics Defense of the Heart brought.

DreadKhan I don't think any of really fit the creepy crawly theme I'm going for (bats really don't either tbh I'm think of changing them to what idk yet).

And I've made alot of devil support over the years as it's one of my favorites tribes that had so much potential to be a fun chaotic tribe that they wasted on making them yet another aristocratic theme. But I do think imps need more love they're an even older tribe with no love and I already have a theme for them. A mix of Simulacrum and Imp's Mischief

Last_Laugh on The Trial of the Doctor

Just a heads up, but you have a couple cards I spotted that don't work with the 6th Dr. due to rules technicalities. Adrix and Nev, Twincasters and Bennie Bracks, Zoologist. Tokens that are the result of copying a permanent spell aren't "created" and won't trigger the above cards. It's rule 111.12 if you feel like checking it out.

Esika's Chariot is a nice copy effect that you don't run.

Galadriel, Light of Valinor is worth running too. She's sooooo gross in multiples.
