Most annoying commander?

Deck Help forum

Posted on April 15, 2014, 2:30 a.m. by Bubbleberry

I'm trying to find the most annoying/commander/screw with peoples EVERYTHING commander I can possible find. And can just work with some really dumb/funny cards like Knowledge Pool and just really dumb/fun cards in general, and that's essentially also a kingmaker and minigames deck. So far I think the dumbest and most fun commander I've seen for this is Angus Mackenzie . Any other ideas?

Nekusar is incredibly annoying to play against.

Pillow fort decks are also quite annoying because nothing ever fucking happens.

Sharuum the Hegemon has tons of combo potential. She can be brutal to play against.

I've also heard that Sen Triplets and Jhoira of the Ghitu are quite unfun in a game.

I'm guilty of using her, but I certainly don't think a properly tooled up Merieke Ri Berit deck is fair to use in anything but a really competitive environment. Not much fun having any creature you play mind-controlled!

Any commander that is a living tutor. Zur the Enchanter , Captain Sisay , etc

ChiefBell says... #10

The only really irritating commander is Zur the Enchanter because it tutors up the tools needed to make it invincible (Vanishing and others. I've never had any problems with any others. They all die to Damnation most of the time after all.

Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge I HATE her... I can deal with Nekrusar, just please don't play her and start exiling my library and I won't make you public enemy #1.

I play Heartless Hidetsugu and i'm usually the first person out of the game unless I get myself in a Silent Arbiter /Kazuul, Tyrant of the Cliffs fort

Out of all of my decks Sigarda, Host of Herons draws a ton of hate. No one likes a hexproof general. Some of my friends have retooled their decks just to deal with her.

ChiefBell I'm not a fan of decks that do the same thing every single game, such as Zur the Enchanter or Captain Sisay because the games get boring and repetitive. Its one thing to have a goal for your deck, its another thing to do identical plays from one game to the next. For example, I know a guy that plays a Sisay deck, and every game its
-Play Sisay
-Tutor Nythos
-Tutor Avacyn
-Tutor Sigarda

and I personally don't see how that is fun, its boring for everyone from what I can see and kinda goes away from the casual and social appeal of EDH.

I love consistency. Those 2 really get that aspect of the game right. That is why they are 2 of the best out there.

You do not tutor for Nykthos first. Gaddock Teeg is first and foremost. He is spectacularly douchey.

1- ramp

2- Sisay

3- Gaddock Teeg and ramp

4- Avacyn

This is how my buddies Sisay deck goes. Just shenanigans. This exact situation has occured multiple times.

Another way has been turn 4 is Mirari's Wake turn 5 both of those bastids.

He'd need to get the teeg out in most competitive games because a lot of people run 5+ board clears. Although it still wouldnt stop a quick Vindicate slap in the face. The problem with Captain Sisay is that, unlike Zur, he doesn't tutor many things that actually protect him (apart from the Teeg). Zur on the other hand can start by tutoring up somethign that makes it nigh on unkillable (yay!). And is why he is thus banned in 1v1.

He is so good. They both are. I love powerful commanders. Xenagos is pretty great too.

why has nobody mentioned iona? I heard she is really annoying, although I have never played against her

May 30, 2014 10:16 p.m.

PlattBonnay says... #23

Iona as a commander isn't that bad, because you have to hard cast her from the command zone. Iona is a pain when its cheated into play way earlier than she should be (i.e. turn 3 Iona off of a Kaalia trigger)

Maelstrom Wanderer draws a lot of hate. You can set up a big Cascade with Scroll Rack before you cast the wanderer. The blue allows you to bounce him with such things as Equilibrium and keep casting him for his base mana cost.

I've always found Hokori, Dust Drinker annoying. He's easy to remove, but I never have a way to get rid of him at the right time when I play against one.
