"Shadows Over Innistrad makes Izzet a thing again without it being a stupid Eldrazi deck. Let us rejoice, and advance our knowledge." - A Niv-Mizzet wannabe.

This is my first attempt at a Standard deck. Any comments for improvements are greatly appreciated. Some reasoning behind some of the cards.

Anticipate - Card advantage engine. Good for drawing into the cards you need for the combos within the deck.

Dispel - Might be putting more of these in the deck as there is a lot of talk about control heavy decks coming into the format.

Fiery Impulse - Good for removing creatures as there are a lot of noncreature spells in the deck.

Fiery Temper - Combos amazingly with Lightning Axe. Also good on its own. Debating putting more Lightning Axes in the deck. I don't know yet.

Lightning Axe - Explained above. May move to 3 of each.

Slip Through Space - Mostly for Thing in the Ice   for when it flips to ensure I get damage in. Also nice card draw for 1 mana.

Jace, Vryn's Prodigy   - He's really solid for proc'ing the Madness on Fiery Temper and for getting an accelerated game going. However, I don't know if he's good ENOUGH in this particular deck.

Jori En, Ruin Diver - From turn 4 onwards, I should be casting 2+ spells a turn for the most part. If not it's because I'm playing a planeswalker. This card is just good for, again, increasing the deck pacing.

Stormchaser Mage - I don't think theres a better two drop available in Standard for this deck.

Thing in the Ice   - This card is hype. It's also very synergetic with the deck. It's great to flip whenever I've lost board control or to go in with a killing blow.

Thunderbreak Regent - A solid body that is hard to get rid of. Can be a great draw later into the game.

Chandra, Flamecaller - The +1 on this chandra is insane. Great finisher past turn 5 if you haven't drawn into a combo to kill them yet.

Jace, Unraveler of Secrets - The +1 on this card is great for this deck. If I'm put on the backfoot and cast this, it can be just what I need to draw into my combo to end the game.

~~~Sideboard~~~
Dispel - It might be overkill having this and four Negates sideboarded. But the expectation for heavy control spells in the format and the cheap CMC of this card may call for it.
Boiling Earth - Token hate.
Fevered Visions - It's a good card in certain scenarios. I may consider main-boarding it.
Exquisite Firecraft - Spell mastery counters control decks and other shenanigans. Very solid spell, but the CMC MIGHT be too high for what this deck is trying to accomplish. So it is sideboarded to be used against slower matchups.
Negate - Good versus control and planeswalkers. All of which will be popular in this meta.
I understand this deck probably isn't going to win a PTQ or anything, but I think it's a pretty solid deck. All constructive criticism is appreciated.
Updates Add
Removed Abbot of Keral Keep to mainboard Thunderbreak Regent for a solid mid game body. Removed Engulf the Shore for Boiling Earth for Token hate. Added Fevered Visions as a solid sideboard card. Looking for a way to add Goblin Dark-Dwellers and improve the combo game.
