The last hoorah for my beloved Assault Formation deck before it rotates in Sept.
Make no mistake as its namesake this deck is highly dependent on Assault Formation although I have tried to make some secondary win-cons for games against decks with enchantment hate.
I re-evaluated it with SOI and decided to push it towards colourless creatures.
It is highly resilient in the early game and has excellent defensive drops in the form of Sidisi's Faithful and Tide Drifter. Sidis's doubles as super cheap bounce which is very relavent in the current format (I generally sac itself for an effective sorcery speed bounce). Drifter quickly gets most of our creatures out of languish/grasp range.
Next on curve is Herald of Kozilek, which can set up extremely efficient plays in later turns. Vile Aggregate which has great synergy with Assault Formation but is an alternate win-con with trample and multiple colourless creatures in play. Benthic Infiltrator is crazy good and accounts for a lot of unblockable damage. Void Grafter is our utility drop, at instant speed it can save our important creatures or set up an ambush block, not to be under-estimated.
Altered Ego is a new addition, but one I'm happy with, a large Infiltrator or Aggregate copy can help when Assault is down and offers another win-con.
World Breaker because = awesome.
I've found Radiant Flames is the preferred removal over things like Kozileks.
The sideboard speaks is fairly straight forward.Some answers to flyers which the main deck has no real answers to, some extra removal and some help against decks with enchantment hate.
