Strike Twice Hit First

Storytime for this deck. This deck started with me helping my friend building a firebreathing firststrike deck. I helped him build that deck and then immediately he challenged me to make something better on the spot by which I proclaimed just give everything doublestrike b/c 2 is better than 1...this stupid statement led to the creation of this glass cannon devil's work deck.

I had lots of colors to go with here but I choose W/R because those are the easiest colors to attain cheap double strike and that offer affordable instant beef to make them the threat they should be early because strictly speaking you're going big early our you're going home.

The theme is literally as simple as attacking with doublestriking creatures and pumping whichever ones get through god have mercy on you if they are playing a deck that has cheap high toughness blockers or strong stall because you may as well surrender and save you both time. Our win condition is to deal enough damage to win before they can stop you.

The deck itself is so simple it was literally thought up and drafted together in a day. The real trick of the deck comes with playing mind games and trust me the mind games will be strong b/c they know your goal the second they play this deck and you must figure out how to still achieve your goal knowing that they know your goal.

Draw power: cycling Angelsong when you need draw and Defiant Strike to some degree Titan's Strength b/c of it's ability to let you scry which is rare thing in red.

This deck rarely doesn't win fast (mostly cause when it doesn't you've already lost XD) so you kind of need to accelerate your draw power.

Game Winners:

Zada, Hedron Grinder - This card along with pretty much any of the instant cards that I've added to give that sudden beefiness is now suddenly applied to all of your creatures on the field and that is often enough to win you the game.

Fable Hero - This might as well be the mvp of the deck as far as I'm concerned as his ability to get bigger just from being targeted makes an already terrifying big double strike creature running at somebody that much scarier.

Anax and Cymede- Gives your doublestriker's 1/1 and trample that is honestly godlike in this deck

Iroas, God of Victory- YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR. This guy is the bro card giving essentially all your cards a far more likely chance of getting in and making them invulnerable to combat damage while doing it. You won't always get him out but when you do you'll appreciate what he does.

So putting it all together drop doublestrikers, attack with double strikers, beef up doublestrikers. This is glass cannon you shoot to win and if you don't at least you shoot to have a good time.

Some important things to take into note is that there are some cards I think you can go without in the deck and very likely notice any difference. Brion, Moonveil Dragon, Sun Titan and Isochron are easy cards to spot for the chopping block for me at least and could easily be replaced with more cheap doublestriker's or card that could increase your chances to win.

Notes on some cards and why they are in the deck:

Moonveil Dragon- Other than I like both the name and the way this card looks the only reason you'd ever want to keep it is for it's mass, cheap firebreathing ability; the weakness of it's cost is it's real glaring flaw.

Boros Reckoner- Given the infinite combos that revolve around this card I imagine somebody out there wants to slap me given that I literally only use them as threatening blockers...they have other great uses but that is how I use them most often in this deck.

Brion Stoutarm- Surprisingly I tend to get good use out of this card. I slap him on the field and after I've powered up a creature I can use him to get more damage in; if your opponent finds a way to block your doublestrike or prevent combat damage...well Brion is actually quite the work around for that for making sure that damage get's through. I mean you can achieve the same thing with Fling though so it's kind of your choice.

Sun Titan- Literally only in here to bring back the doublestriking creature and isochron's for a second round if a game manages to last that long.

As always I am open to suggestions or even for cards I may have missed that could find their way into this deck so feel free to leave suggestions or comments if you like the deck or even if you hate it, and hey if you really like this glass cannon doublestrike deck idea you could even be kind enough to leave me a +1 and I'd appreciate at least the nod that you approve.
