Relentless Rush intro x2

Standard* Aggro BR (Rakdos) Budget

Maybeboard

Last year when I got back into Magic I started out by mashing two M14 Bestial Strength decks - the G/B one. 4x Kalonian Tusker, 4x Deadly Recluse and 4x Doom Blade was a decent core to get me through the first few FNMs (with mixed success of course!)

As a little way of marking this occasion (well, it was December last year. Ah well!) I'm challenging myself to rock the release day DTK-standard FNM with a doubled up Relentless Rush deck, because it's bloody awesome!

DA ROOLZ

  • My card pool will be two DTK Relentless Rush Intro deck packs, including the 4 boosters if theres anything good / relevant in them.
  • No extra cards from my collection will be added. Tempting as it is to drop in Goblin Rabblemasters and Dragon Fodder and suchlike!

Deck Summary

With the mass saturation of Dash creatures in the deck, it would be no surprise that I would be taking as many of them as 4-ofs as possible. Lightning Beserker and Screamreach Brawler are the first wave, dishing out as much damage as possible. Warbringer turns up the pressure midgame if not dealt with, finishing the game off with Boltwing Marauder...

...Or rather, the absolute gem that is Impact Tremors. The more of these on the field the crazier the Dash shenanigans become! One of them on the field is a Spark Jolt per dash (without the scry or creature targeting obviously), two is entering Purphoros, God of the Forge territory, three means "free" Lightning Bolts, and four is the sheer madness Stoke the Flames has been causing of late!

That I think is where the power lies in the deck; at least one of these out as early as possible then watch the opponent's world burn. Until they side in Erase of course...!

Cards from the packs that I haven't used are going to maybeboard for reference, but this is the plan so far! I might type up a card breakdown later as to why this and that is in the main / sideboard but it's mostly down to gut feeling and a lot of time spent playing RDW!

Let me know what you think!

Updates Add

I'm very tempted to break my challenge slightly to add in a couple of cards from the pre-release pool; went Kolaghan and pulled another Boltwing Marauder in one of the boosters and Dragonlord Kolaghan in the seeded pack!

My pre-release deck ended up similar to what I'm making here so got a good insight at how some of the cards worked. Went 2-2 in the end, blitzing past Ojatai-Esper and Dromoka-Abzan to be beaten by two Atarka decks. Might post a list later!
