Foul Renewal

Instant

Return target creature card from your graveyard to your hand. Target creature gets -X/-X until end of turn, where X is the toughness of the card returned this way.

@Demon86RM, Foul Renewal is a neat 2 for 1 but I don't like that the removal is conditional on having an appropriately-large creature in my graveyard. When I need removal, I just want that thing gone.

@IAmTheWraith, good call, Dragonstorm 's back in.

@MattN7498, when you're editing your deck, there's a checkbox option called "Show other decks" that will automatically show your other decks on the left-hand side. No HTML required. Sarkhan's Unsealing is pretty cool, just hard to find something weak to take out and make room for it. I'll keep it in mind next time I want to replace something.

@DwaginFodder, I've got a lot of controlling players in my playgroup and after the first few turns, people generally have the available to prevent me from using Rhystic Tutor . I originally skipped over Crucible of the Spirit Dragon because it's slow but you're right, it's nice when I'm not curving out perfectly, or later game when I just have the to spare. Added it in!

Demon-Quiller I guess it's as simple as not playing it when she's in the yard lol, with cards like Phyrexian Reclamation or Foul Renewal you're not entirely out of options. Will also keep it in mind in case I wanna kill my Thanks for the suggestions!

What about including Foul Renewal?
It's a 2 for 1 that combines removal+grave recursion

You've convinced me: a 1-shot kill does me more good than Distended Mindbender could, and with Foul Renewal and Haunted Crossroads it gets downright nasty. Awesome, thanks!

Love the deck name! Very befitting. My Doran build I'm working on is vastly different, but I like seeing a different deck like this for comparison. I'm thinking of trying to utilize the treefolk tribal. That said, I have a lot of non-treefolk tribal cards that aren't included here too. Here are some suggestions to give you food for thought:

Birds of Paradise, Selvala, Explorer Returned, Oketra the True, Vhati il-Dal, Vizier of the Menagerie, Seedborn Muse, Pontiff of Blight, Ulvenwald Observer, Angel of Serenity, Craterhoof Behemoth, Aven Warcraft, Foul Renewal, Eland Umbra, Spidersilk Armor, Mirari's Wake, Sight of the Scalelords and Volrath's Stronghold.

I second the suggestions for Lifecrafter's Bestiary, Abzan Beastmaster and Defense of the Heart. Survival of the Fittest also couldn't hurt. Burgeoning is another strong suggestion, gonna add that to my list of potential additions to my deck.

I need to thank you for the inspiration for me to consider Arachnogenesis and Pernicious Deed as well!

My list is much more creature-oriented, but I think Doran ought to be a creature deck first, so maybe scaling back a little of the targeted removal would be a good idea. However, I don't know who you're up against either, so perhaps you feel you need it worse than I do.

One last thing, while Eternal Witness doesn't fit Doran's little power-swap, I think it's strictly better than Skullwinder in any given situation. But that's my preference.

Ok, changes made: In Garruk's Wake in, Forced March out. Palace Siege in, Macabre Waltz out. Liliana of the Dark Realms, Dread, and Graveborn Muse are in, and out go Death Denied, Dutiful Return, and Foul Renewal. Lands in are Vesuva and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx for Subterranean Hangar and a Swamp.

That's where Volrath stands for now. I think I will be adding a Thespian's Stage in the future, as well, and I will keep looking into the other suggestions the more I play it and see how it works out. I hope that I haven't pushed my mana curve too high for it to be consistent.

If you think I should have subbed something different, please offer up more suggestions!

I've been looking at building an Ishkana deck, too. I was looking at mine from more of an online place, budget-wise, but I checked out the differences between our decks, and I think there are quite a few budget cards that would help: Tree of Tales and Vault of Whispers both net two types when milled. Vessel of Nascency was a standard in Standard Delirium, since it immediately puts and enchantment in your graveyard. Syphon Mind and Harmonize are both great value cards. Millikin is a great fit in Ishkanah decks, since it can ramp, chump to put two types in the graveyard, and mill, all on its own. Commander's Sphere is the same. It can ramp you from 4 to 5 mana and cycle to fuel delirium as early as turn 4. Foul Renewal should be pretty powerful in this deck, and I had Sight of the Scalelords and Ikra Shidiqi, the Usurper for the same toughness reasons. Finally, the piece of tech I'm proudest of is Champion of Stray Souls. If you're already milling creatures into your graveyard, then sacking 3 1/2 spider tokens for 3 real creatures is fantastic, especially since you can let Ishkanah go to the graveyard be be re-risen with fresh tokens. If you move away from budget options, I also think Buried Alive is a good choice. Choosing Arachnoid, nyxweaver, and a fattie, you get Delirium and a reanimation target. I also included a land tutor package. Here's my full list: Spiders.
