Big factory for pumping out soldiers. Quite resilient to board wipes, with plenty of control to manipulate the game in your favor. What this deck really excels at is repeatedly wiping the board, taking out threats, and countering opponents spells.
The main kill of this deck is Assemble the Legion. With the constant flow of soldier tokens that increases every turn, it gets to be quite formidable. Even better is that you can push through board wipes with little difficulty.
The deck uses a lot of control effects as well, such as board wipes (Supreme Verdict and Terminus), spot removal (Oblivion Ring and
Detention Sphere
), counterspells (
Syncopate
and Dissipate), as well as the flexible
Izzet Charm
and the exceptional
Aurelia's Fury
. With Fury, you can stall aggro decks a turn (while wiping out some of their smaller creatures) and you can also hold back decks for a much-needed turn.
Jace, Memory Adept serves as flexible card advantage, while Ral Zarek tends to just be flexible advantage. His ultimate, combined with Temporal Mastery, is synergistic with token-making and can put you in a very advantageous spot.

Maybeboard is a second idea at sideboard, that changed the deck into a more aggressive platform.
Slightly tweaked from American ConTroll Assembly... really excellent deck, I just made slight adjustments to meet my own tastes.
