My first attempt at a monoblue Arcanum Wings into Eldrazi Conscription (aka "Aura Swap" deck). Prototype list made when I saw the cards myself without any netdecking, then refined as I read on the various UW and UG versions of this idea.

Many compromises made for budget sake, as the Eldrazi Conscriptions are pretty much all of it. The main one being that I'm not running the best body for this deck which is Slippery Bogle. Instead, we are running Invisible Stalker for hexproof and Blighted Agent for infect. Academy Researchers is the most costly and most fragile, but if it sticks it saves a lot of mana and trouble in trying to combo.

Also some cards I haven't seen much in other lists:

  • Corrupted Conscience can straight up pull the weight for you against go-tall decks. It's also a funny combo from using the wings in an opponent's creature, if for some reason your creatures can't stick.

  • Muddle the Mixture is not only a counterspell, but also tutors for 2/3 of our combo pieces, as both best creatures and the wings are all 2 CMC. I thought that made it worthy of being the only other card over $1 in this deck.

  • Hubris is not only tempo gain when targeting an opponent's creature, but also protection from wipe when targeting ours. Remember that the Aura Swap mechanic means you most likely still have the wings in your hand even if you already triggered the combo once. So bouncing back an already Conscripted creature means probably having all pieces in hand ready to go. Doubly so if it's the Academy Researchers.

  • Hidden Strings. Tap something then untap one of your lands, effectively casting it for 1. Cypher on an unblockable and now you can at the very least keep mana up for your counters every turn.

On the sideboard I'm basically experimenting with cheap blue cards. Most sideboard staples in the format break my budget.

  • Aura Graft can save our auras if the body drops from under them, and is also great at mirror or near-mirror matches where the opponent also plays heavy auras.

  • Sidisi's Faithful. Creatures with Exploit can exploit themselves, so basically this is a 1-drop bounce that can stay as a relevant wall if needed.

  • Ceremonious Rejection is our counter against artifact decks, Turn Aside for control-control.

  • Neurok Stealthsuit can stay on the table and give Shroud at instant speed (If the creature is already enchanted the enchantments stay on). Aura Swap wording also means we can still do the thing. It's on the sideboard because I suspect it's too slow, but further testing might change that.
