Experimenting on a delirium list for modern.
This deck reliably gets delirium T1, leading to a T2 Hymn to Emrakul/big Grim Flayer/activated Moldgraf/giant Goyf
Card Choices:
Goyf bc it's great
Moldgraf Scavenger bc it's mini-Goyf 5-8
Grim Flayer bc it's a value engine and takes two Bolts with delirium enabled
Whispers of Emrakul bc forcing your opponent to randomly discard two cards is extremely good
Tome Scour/Memory Sluice/Dream Twist to mill our own cards turn 1 to enable turn 2 delirium
The oddball cards:
Stream of Unconsciousness - enabler; I really don't like Peppersmoke, but that's my preference. Plus -4/-0 is better against midrange creatures/opposing Goyf's is better than -1/-1 imo.
Bitterblossom - enabler and great token generator
Bow of Nylea - enabler, and all of it's modes are relevant. Destroy weak fliers, gain life against burn, grow creatures, and prevent decking yourself.
Hangarback Walker - enabler, also cornercase creature and token generator.
4x Fatal Push bc cheap removal. Answers early game creatures (aside from Bant Eldrazi and Tron), allowing us to setup our board to dominate
Liliana the Last Hope - better in this list than LotV bc her +1 helps against midrange, her -2 recures our creatures, and her ultimate will win games if we stall or our opponent can't answer her quickly enough.
Noxious Revival is an amazing card. If we mill something great that we want, it'll put it back on top of our library at instant speed. Makes a lot of unkeepable hands keepable.
Notes:
Extra mill cards can be targeted at our opponents to deck them as Plan B. We won't deck bc of Nox/Bow to constantly return not only cards to our library but threats to it as well, giving this deck resiliency.
Thought Scour - I've tested, and it just doesn't get delirium consistently enough for T2 plays. Tome Scour and Memory Sluice are almost guaranteed to enable delirium, especially if after fetching.
The manabase and sideboard need work, but the manabase is feasible as of right now. More fetches = better colorfixing and delirium.
67 cards maindeck- to help prevent decking and it's a mix I've found to work for me.
So what do you guys think? Could this deck have legs in modern?
