Why play Soul Sisters?

With the changing metagame in modern allowing for the comeback of midrange decks, it is time to return to an old classic: Soul Sisters. Appart from the classic Soul Sisters package, this deck benefits greatly from the new tools from Modern Horizons. The card choices for this deck will be covered down below.

The Enablers

Soul's Attendant/Soul Warden: These handy creatures are what the deck is named after. By gaining 1 life whenever any creature (yours or your opponents) enters the battlefield, they enable many synergies within the deck.

Auriok Champion: Another Soul Sister with protection from black and red for 2 white. Whilst not all Soul Sister variants run a full playset of this card, it is extremely good as it dodges a lot of the removal in modern right now. Additionally, it provides 2 white devotion for Heliod, Sun-Crowned.

Linden, the Steadfast Queen: This card allows Ajani's Pridemate to enable itself by attacking and provides a lot more lifegain triggers. Additionally it combo's really well with Archangel of Thune and provides 3 white devotion for Heliod, Sun-Crowned.

Spectral Procession: This card is amazing! It can provide chump blockers with flying, trigger Ajani's Pridemate and Heliod, Sun-Crowned with one or more Soul Sisters on the board and activate Windbrisk Heights. If we get an Archangel of Thune out lategame, it can be a real beater too.

Legion's Landing  : Gains us life and can help us ramp into bigger threats.

Windbrisk Heights: Helps us cheat out big threats.

The Payoffs

Ajani's Pridemate: Our Tarmogoyf. A Pridemate on turn two can quickly grow out of hand with one or multiple Soul Sisters.

Heliod, Sun-Crowned: This card is insane! Its Ajani's Pridemate like effect can give +1/1 counters to cards like Auriok Champion for a huge threat with protection from black and red, or even a Spirit Token for evasive damage. Additionally, it can become a 5/5 indestructable creature if we have enough devotion.

Archangel of Thune: Buff our entire board for for every instance of lifegain.
