So, this is a very aggressive very fast aggro deck. I basically wanted to see if Practiced Offense could be good in Modern. This powerful spell sees a fair bit of Standard play but hasn't really broken into Modern. Nonetheless it seems pretty strong when it works.
We basically have 2 flavours of 1 Drops, the White ones which go wide, and the Black ones which go tall. The rest of the deck is designed to enable these.
Ocelot Pride + Guide of Souls makes an appearance here. This is the go-wide engine of the deck, flooding the board with cat tokens, then swinging in with a big flying doublestriker alongside a buncha 2/2 cats.
Nethergoyf and Moonshadow also make an appearance here, and much of the deck is built around enabling these. They go real tall real fast, pairing well with Practiced Offense and also playing pretty well with Guide of Souls. While Offense is usually used for double strike, the lifelink option enables Prides and can swing a race your way in a pinch.
4x Mishra's Bauble and 4x Street Wraith make your deck more consistent while triggering Moonshadow, and putting cards in the grave for the Goyf.
4x Fatal Push is just good removal, useful in general but especially good at helping Prides scale off. It's out instant of choice for Goyf.
4x Urza's Saga are in the deck, even though they basically only cast the Saga artifacts and Offense. They go to the graveyard for Goyf, have 2 types including the unique enchantment type for Goyf, they can search Baubles for another type/trigger, and they give us a small package of hate cards for various unfair matchups. The Construct creation mode is at it's weakest here out of any deck I've played Saga with in Modern, but it is still technically a mana sink and helps go wide.
The deck is on 12 fetches to enable the black creatures, and 2 Crime Scenes, which enable both black creatures, and can also mill Offense for out of nowhere wins.
I opted not to run equipment in the saga slot, just miser copies of Grafdigger's Cage and Nihil Spellbomb for grave hate, Pithing Needle for activated effects in general, and some specific combo cards that rely on them, and a Vexing Bauble which is mostly for the scam plan, especially out of Esper Goryos, but also stops free blue countermagic like Subtlety and Force of Negation.
