Mono red devotion with a splash of white for Legion's Initiative. This can save from board wipe. Also, can be used to exile creatures with Fanatic of Mogis on the board and bring them back. This will hit your opponent with devotion damage twice. Also, added Chained to the Rocks for creature removal. Will playtest and run it at my next FNM and update with results.

Sideboard:

vs control: switch in the 4x Burning Earth (for BUW) or 4x Mindsparker (for UW) 4x Skullcrack and 2x Hammer of Purphoros for the 7 direct dmg spells, 3x Boros Reckoner, save your Skullcrack for the Sphinx's Revelation and save your extra Burning Earth or Mindsparker in hand till the one on the board eats a Detention Sphere

vs 3 or more colors: 4x Burning Earth for 4 of the direct damage spells.

The devotion is used to summon and monstrous Stormbreath Dragon, use Purphoros, God of the Forge +1/0, overload Mizzium Mortars in addition to the staple Fanatic of Mogis.

This deck killed last night!

Round 1 vs izzit burn. At first I was worried because he played many direct damage spells and had Young Pyromancer out to create tokens each game. However, his deck ran out of steam quickly and I overloaded Mizzium Mortar both games for easy swings to afterward. 2-0

Round 2 vs gruul. This deck had Stormbreath Dragon, mana dorks, and staple green creatures but my deck ran too fast. Another easy 2-0 win with overloaded mortars.

Round 3 vs rakdos. I felt really bad during this match. The guy I played has only showed up a few times and was a super nice guy. He told me that he'd never been matched up against mono-red devotion and was astonished how quickly the two games went. I used Chandra to keep his Desecration Demon from blocking and won 2-0 again.

Round 4 vs bant control: I was matched up with this opponent last week and lost horribly. Everything that typically comes at you with control did Supreme Verdict, sphinx revelation, Detention Sphere. There wasn't much I could do in game one. Game two I sideboarded in Skullcrack, Mindsparker, and Hammer of Purphoros. These helped to slow him down and he scooped on game two. In game three, it was again pretty standard control. Our match went to turns and he got rid of my only blockers and swung for 14 damage on turn 5 to win.

Round 5 vs orzhov: Again, another quick match up. He played both games with questionable hands and got mana screwed. He couldn't get his demons or ghost dads out to do any damage. 2-0.

Overall, this is definitely my best showing. I only lost two games the entire night and placed third and won four packs, a promo Warleader's Helix, and trade portfolio. My boyfriend Oddjob9 played my selesnya deck and went undefeated to place first (although he lost more games than I did lol).
