Ohthenoises, I also use body/mind, but I have found that milling someone ten cards from their library often helps out my enemies... :(

I guess it depends on the meta but Rest in Peace makes that "combo" a really cool one.

Eight-and-a-Half-Tails and Auras don't mix. Giving him pro-White would cause all Auras to fall off. I also don't have the space to support Auras.
Never liked Sword of Body and Mind because of the mill. In this deck, it doesn't accomplish anything and if there's a graveyard deck at the table, they get free advantage.
I had Sword of War and Peace in the deck before, but dropped it as the extra damage didn't really do much most of the time, the extra life isn't as great as strait-up lifelink, and pro-White gums up my Planeswalkers.

One aura would be decent in here. Eldrazi Conscription is pretty powerful, taking out opponents in two shots at most. You have the ramp to get it out, so I think it would do okay.

No interest in Auras. I want to keep this deck Equipment-only.

Would Mishra's Workshop be worth it? It would let you cast a sword and equip it on turn 3, as well as helping out with all of the artifact spells you play.

Yeah and? You don't give a budget so I have no idea how much you're willing to spend.

Mishra's Workshop isn't something I can afford.
Most people can't afford very expensive cards. Best not suggest them.
July 25, 2013 12:35 p.m.
Don't get all defensive. Most intelligent people wouldn't spend 500 dollars on a single card.
July 25, 2013 12:37 p.m.
Look at it this way. Workshop is five times more expensive than the most expensive card in this deck, which I believe is his judge foil Mana Crypt. Which was only about $60 at the time he bought it.
Just going by that and the average total price of the deck (less than $500), I believe that there's an idea of his budget.
July 25, 2013 1:19 p.m.
@SkyFolk, Ouch. Don't get the legacy players with their foiled JTMS and Tarmogoyf s hear that. Or even Epoch, whose edh deck could swallow a card like Mishra's Workshop and not look any different.
@NensouHiebara, what are your thoughts on Dispense Justice and Dispatch ? You very often will have metalcraft active, or does your meta run enough artifact hate to screw that over?
July 25, 2013 2:39 p.m.
Notice how I said most. Also those are not relevant points, those people obviously don't have budgets at all, while this deck is less than 500 dollars...

I get metalcraft online often. The vast majority of artifact hate is spot removal, but most Red decks have Vandalblast and there's the occasional Akroma's Vengeance .
No interest in Dispense Justice and it's ilk as they're easy to bypass and being restricted to combat hinders overall usefulness.
Dispatch was in the deck before. I have no interest in using it again.

Just based on the cards that are in the deck, I don't see how that could give me an idea of a budget. I see a mana crypt and figure someone doesn't mind spending a little money on it. That total on the right hand side just tells you the total the deck is on TCGplayer average, again it isn't a budget. I merely gave a suggestion which was on the higher end of cards.
July 25, 2013 4:23 p.m.
@Skyfolk, Very relevent points.
"Most intelligent people wouldn't spend 500 dollars on a single card."
Implying that the people who do spend 500 dollars on single cards are not intelligent people. I don't think it's fair to say all legacy and edh players who spend that much aren't smart. What people do with their money is their own business, and what people spend on isn't always indicative of their intelligence.
Smith_and_Tonic I feel made a very valid suggestion, given that this user wants to make a very good deck and hasn't put in a budget restriction. So why are you shooting him down for trying to help him?
@NensouHiebara I noticed you have a relatively high curve. What's your meta like? Do you run into any counterspells or a lot of artifact hate (sweepers or targetted)? The Avacyn I feel is a bit slow to come out even if you have mana doublers, but that's my opinion.
July 25, 2013 5:22 p.m.
I did not say all, I said most. Since when does "most" mean "all"?

You all do notice that it says 24 cards are left out of the calculations right? I also don't believe that the website takes into account foils or alternate printings such as promos which can really drive up the total price of a deck. Some people put value into foils/promos for value or aesthetics... I would know >_>

My meta is predominately multicolour. Most decks are either two or three-colour, with monocolour in the minority.
A LGS hosts a Commander League that happens bi-weekly on Mondays nights for a few months at a time. Each League has a $10 buy-in, with the top 4 at the end of the League getting store credit as prizes. The League is considered competitive.
League games use the regular multiplayer rules with pods of 3-4 players, thought in some circumstances a pod of 5 can happen. There are 2 rounds every League night and players are switched up after the first game so that no one fights the exact same players twice. Most players have multiple decks sometimes use a different one after the first game.
The League has point system which includes punishment for fast wins, so there aren't any fast, degenerate combo decks. Aside from that, anything goes.
The majority artifact hate I see are spot removal spells and ETB triggers. There are not many artifact sweepers outside of Red decks using Vandalblast .
Despite a handful of decks using Blue, countermagic is mainly lax. I'm not being choked by it.
Avacyn, Angel of Hope is one of the deck's best creatures. She is difficult to answer, protects everything from most removal, and can be an enormous threat with the deck's Equipment.
There are currently 21 cards in this deck are Promos/alternate printings. I love Promos.

@Skyfolk, you've entirely missed the point. Now you're just arguing semantics.
@NensouHiebara, I ask because now I know your deck is built very differently than mine, for a different meta. Although my play group doesn't go to events, my meta has a lot of blue, a lot of counters, and a lot of targeted artifact destruction. So as such, I run Cavern of Souls and Hanna's Custody and other countermeasures for those types of cards in my voltron deck.
How has Ghostly Prison worked for you? I feel that that oftentimes the opponent will just swing with one fatty and pay the cost willingly. If it's against tokens and swarm, then I see a use for prison, but then wouldn't you want to use Crawlspace instead?
Would you consider Wayfarer's Bauble and Mask of Memory ? Bauble is hard land ramp where you have none, and mask lets you dig for cards.

NensouHiebara says... #23
Ghostly Prison is wonderful. I like how it denies my opponents mana if they want to attack. Also, it dodges Vandalblast , unlike Crawlspace . I'm trying to find space for Windborn Muse to give the deck a second Prison effect.
I'd rather run Expedition Map over Bauble, but I don't have space for it. I'm running Solemn Simulacrum for hard ramp.
I don't need Mask of Memory . I have Sword of Fire and Ice , Staff of Nin , and Mikokoro, Center of the Sea for card draw. Scroll Rack digs like a champ alongside a shuffle effect, especially Land Tax .

What about war/peace and body/mind?
body/mind might be worth another look now that the general isn't kemba, you might still want those tokens to chump with. Also, I don't know about you but protection from U is HUGE due to it being the most commonly played color.
war/peace also gives some good protections and can gain you some life to stay in v.s. swarm decks.
