My B/W token deck I will be working on and continually updating. The general idea is to pump out token generators to stall till miracle entreat or morbid skirsdag when he is added (hard to fit him in with scars still in).
My reason for this deck is very little of it is going to cycle come 2 months time and I still feel B/W tokens is a strong deck that can hold it's own against a variety of decks
FNM 3/8/2012
Placed 4th out of roughly 16 people 3 Wins-1 Loss
Round 1: Against a mono black zombie deck, lost the second game due to missing a few land drops but took it out 2 Wins-1 Loss, not a lot to say here as the deck didn't have a lot of synergy.
Round 2: From memory this was a B vamp deck, I was able to take this one 2-0 as my spirits went to town with some help from honour the pure and virture
Round 3: Boros time, This was a good fight and a good test at the same time, we went tit for tat and ended up going to a third, bonfire really hammering it home though and proving it's worth in standard, I ended up losing 1 win-2 losses
Round 4: Naya pod match up for the final game, I wish I could give an in depth analysis here but unfortunately, he was just too slow out of the blocks and blood artist kept the bonfire at bay. Took that match out 2-0, I knew it was his first time with this pod deck as well, so it was a good learning experience for him as well.
Summary: I have been playing around with my sideboard trying to figure out a way to combat mono B or B/R agro as it really screws with this deck (given there are barely any 1 drops). Revoke existence is a certain at this point though.
M13 Gameday
Once again BR seemed to be my downfall but placed 7th out of 25 people so not a bad effort as I wait for a few more cards to arrive.
Round 1: Played a B/R vamp deck, was a tough opponent but I eventually won out 2-0 as he got mana screwed the second game, blood artist and celestial purge did the job. first strike golems and the vault combo really show the true potential of this deck and as a result I am looking into more blade splicers to compliment the deck.
Round 2: B/R Zombie deck, eventually got over run and made a few errors, playing against B/R has really been a downfall of mine and didn't make the best sideboard to deal with this match up. 2-0 Loss
Round 3: Mono blue delver control, thought this would be a perfect time to bounce back but unfortunately he kept me locked down pretty tight as I got flooded in the first game and screwed in the third. 2-1 Loss
Round 4: Not much to say, faced off against a W/R tempered steel deck, unfortunately he never had a real chance to get his creatures on the board as he got flooded (both games). 2-0 for me
Round 5: wait for it.......B/R again, knowing this game could cost me a top 8 finish (I wanted that magmaquake) I knew I had to play this better than previous B/R match ups. This deck was a focus on torpor orb and the shenanigans it can cause, first game he really showed how it was done as I really never looked like winning. After a long thought about the sideboard, I knew I made the right choices with celestial purge and as a result, took the second game, third game was a bit tougher but ultimately, blood artist was too good, Odric really helped out as well when I realised he didn't have any board sweepers (threw him in the SB as a last minute decision on the day).
Thoughts: Intangible virtue really shows it's value here, as does blood artists, my next plan is to play around with suture priest and assess it's value as I seem to be really falling behind in the early game and suture priest is just at risk (especially with only 2 months to go before they cycle)
Second M13 Gameday
