An old deck I'm trying to improve. Adopted from an Onslaught era deck of a friends. The format of the time was full of decks with
Siege-Gang Commander

Rotlung Reanimator
, and morphs so Pyroclasm was like Wrath of God.
This deck seeks to shut down the opponents mana base and make sure the biggest guy on the board is a beast trained for combat in the
Contested Cliffs
.
Keeping your opponent on less than 2 lands will help ensure that nothing greater than 2 toughness hits the board.
Shivan Wumpus
is an excellent addition. Cheap beast for Contested Cliff beatdowns. At worst the shaven rumpus is a recurring
Epicenter
.
I play among friends low power, but aggro decks. So Pyroclasm is still relevant. I play with what I have when it come to duel lands. I'm sure
Taiga
would be sweet, but I'll suffer with
Sylvan Scrying
. The ability to tutor
Contested Cliffs
is nice as well.
Plow Under, is such an amazing tempo play. If the game is going well it says take two extra turns. But, it is a little clunky and I might relegate it to the board.
Snapping Gnarlid is a consideration for a low drop beast. Need a land to dodge Pyroclasm, but having an early outlet for the cliffs could be useful.
Garruk Wildspeaker is a great turn five play if you can untap two lands +1 into another Stone Rain.
