Creature (2)

Maybeboard

This is my variation of a Modern Warrior deck.

Themes:

My main themes that I want to stick with are: - Warrior Tribal: I want every creature in the deck to be a warrior. Specifically for the big payoffs of Rush of Battle and Arashin Foremost. - This is aimed to be an early to midrange deck, so anything that's good for both aggro and longevity is a big plus. - Recursion sub-theme: Bloodsoaked Champion and Tenacious Underdog are my main types of recursion that also can be used as fodder for Resplendent Marshal. - Lifegain sub-theme: This mostly has to do with Grotesque Mutation and Rush of Battle. Both meant to give me big swings and gain me life. especially when paired with double strike and boosts from both Resplendent Marshal and Rally the Ranks.

Strategy:

My main win condition is a turn 4-5 Rush of Battle. As soon as turn 4, but late game can have a big splash with my angels. This assumes hitting my creatures on turns 1, 2, and 3 and then dropping a big Rush of battle turn 4 after consistent pressure each turn. Though without hitting rush of battle we go into my second win condition.

My secondary win condition is going wide with a consistently increasing board of warriors. Hitting Grotesque Mutation with no blockers or trading with it early can especially help push me towards a midrange victory by taking out early threats and gaining life. Hitting my Resplendent Marshals or Legion Angels is a huge way to pressure my opponent. Especially with Arashin Foremost on board. Against decks trying to play stompy or indestructible I have Path of Exile to try and keep them at bay.

I think this deck specifically could do well against Izzet Murktide Regent with both my fliers and my Paths. I'm not remotely afraid of DRC either since I'll have late game fliers and it will be easy fodder for my Grotesque Mutation paired with Aven Skirmisher. Same with Ragavan. My biggest worry against Murktide is counter-spelling my Rush of Battle or my Rally the Ranks. Though I can still win without them, it's much more difficult to deal with Murktide Regent if I have to rely on my Path to Exile or while trying to hold onto a Grotesque Mutation. I might add Cavern of Souls to replace my Shadowshine Snarls since it will give all my creatures protection from counter spells and greatly increase my land consistency.

I think I will particularly struggle against Hammer Time. Without any artifact removal and with them having ample blockers it'll be very hard to get in the early damage I need before casting a Rush of Battle. Luckily if I sideboard in my Fatal Pushs to replace my Grotesque Mutations as well as bringing in my Night Clubbers while removing my Tenacious Underdogs it becomes a much more favorable match-up.

Other:

I'm mostly looking for suggestions on how to build the deck with all the cards at my disposal in the mainboard, sideboard, and maybe board without splashing into other colors. I'm aware of the powerful warriors in red and green as well as the utility of Lightning Bolt, Titan's Strength, and Giant Growth but going into three colors is much more expensive and generally makes the deck less consistent in my opinion.

If you have other additions to the deck besides what's in my main, side, and maybe boards please bring a good reason. Especially for non-warrior creatures. Spells, enchantments, and artifacts are heavily recommended as I want the basic core that I have in mind to stay the same.
