I have no idea how I missed that. It's in!

Gotta rework this still; haven't been able to find the time lately. ><

Every time I look at this deck I shake my head, seriously such an awesome commander deck, I have every reason to believe that this deck will go off without a hitch, toOoOo much synergy and sillyness hahahaha

I have now been inspired. I thought my apostle deck Epic One Drops?was good, but this is epic!

Thanks a ton, Mordon327! Yours definitely seems like it could kick some ass in standard. Wish I could provide some suggestions, but standard is not my forte lately. Apostles EDH are definitely fun; I just wish I could afford all the fixings to make this thing perfect. Imperial Seal , Grim Tutor etc are SO FREAKIN' EXPENSIVE.

True that! I have just been making decks and wishing that I could actually have them, but such is life lol. At least Tapped Out makes it almost real.

Dave says... #7

That's the beauty of TappedOut. I love building decks on here in theory, going over everything a few hundred times, then finally ordering the cards I need to complete it.

That's how a lot of my decks came to be actually. :)

It's been reworked. I unfortunately didn't have room for everyone's suggestions; did some playtesting today against a few other EDH decks from this site. It seems to hold up very well.

Love it. was working on something similar and you beat me to the finish. I think Sanguine Bond would be pro, as would Griselbrand nbd demon

Caligula says... #10

Yeah... i'm just gonna have to go ahead and copy this commander deck hahaa. Dave your a genius!

I cant see this NOT holding up against even some of the strongest commander decks

May 11, 2014 10:32 p.m.

Dave says... #11

I'm sorta sorry to hear that, 0verlord. I know how it feels to be beaten to the punch. Isn't Griselbrand completely banned in EDH though?

I would totally rock Sanguine Bond , but my only life-gain is through Exquisite Blood . It would make for a pretty sick finisher, though.

And thanks a ton, Caligula! Remember, this deck wouldn't be half of what it is without your suggestion for the commander. I don't think I'd have clued in, and if I would have, it woulda taken me forever rofl. If you don't use the tutors this deck is like 300$ or so.

Caligula says... #12

Well according to T/O Griselbrand is EDH Legal, Says it on the right hand side lol. I don't see how he wouldn't be legal though, He's not super super good like some of the other demons out there. I personally think they'd ban Lord of the Void haha, That guy is a bit silly

Yeah, This deck is totally easy on the budget compared to all the other commander decks you see. It's just silly how much the price jumps from standard play to EDH haha.

Tis why I haven't made a commander deck yet.

oh whoops nvm. went of the wizards homepage and yup for some reason hes on the ban list. I thought he was just banned as a commander . Also, Rune-Scarred Demon Edgewalker Whip of Erebos thoughts?

May 12, 2014 10:15 a.m.

Caligula says... #14

Rune-Scarred Demon would be a good fit, A tutor and a fatty in one!

Erebos, God of the Dead might also work for you Dave

Also other fun things Midnight Banshee and Crypt Ghast should go in here and you should maybe think of throwing in Cabal Coffers

Not sure if that's been recommended t o yah

May 12, 2014 10:37 a.m.

Caligula says... #15

Bah, I already recommended the Coffers to yah

I thought I had Cabal Coffers in here. I'm like 100% sure I did. It ninja'd its way out apparently. I think I do need to re-use Rune-Scarred Demon - I actually dropped him when I was reworking.Erebos, God of the Dead could certainly fit in here, but I'm so conflicted with what cards to remove. I don't want to drop down below 43 apostles - I did some rough math and that seems to be the golden number when it comes to draw odds etc.

I want to use Crypt Ghast for some more mana-ramp too, I just don't know what I'd remove. I don't really want the banshee to be honest - the CMC seems too high, and I wouldn't have any way to cheat him out of my deck (except for tutoring + regular casting).

I would love to try Edgewalker 0verlord, but I think the cmc/ 1 white cost on it would hurt me a bit. Whip of Erebos could be awesome if I went the Sanguine Bond route, but I'm aiming for more control over the board as opposed to control over life totals. I'd need to take it in a different direction, but it could work for sure! Maybe in another version of the deck.

Honestly Master of the Feast is pretty good for low CMC but giving you opponent an extra card every turn is pretty rough. I'd sub that out pretty quick just due to the apostles in here

May 12, 2014 4:16 p.m.

Dave says... #18

Group hug, my friend. Group hug. You can totally sub that one out if you want, but I have it in there in case I'm in a casual environment. I like how this deck can perform both ways.

YES I FOUND THE BEST CARDS FOR THIS DECK

Infernal Spawn of Evil aaaaand Infernal Spawn of Infernal Spawn of Evil

But on a serious note Elbrus, the Binding Blade  Flip , Ob Nixilis, the Fallen , Prince of Thralls These all seem primed to mess people up in this deck

Rakdos, Lord of Riots , Silent-Blade Oni , and Master of Cruelties would be good searchers for the apostles possibly?

May 12, 2014 7:26 p.m.

Dave says... #20

JESUS CHRIST, I NEED ELBRUS.

I'd have to change my commander for rakdos and the others though. I wanna keep Athreos :D

May 12, 2014 7:38 p.m.

Caligula says... #21

Touche, Master of Cruelties is just mean though. Might be worth the gamble just to cast him via Apostles.

And yes, Elbrus is just RUDE.Turns your apostles into a BEAST

Not to mention he wins multiplayer games single handedly.

Yes. Yes. YES. I love it! +1

I'd suggest running Sanguine Bond , it makes an infinite combo with Exquisite Blood . If you gain life or your opponent loses life while you have both out, then you win the game. With how much tutoring you have available, this is an incredibly viable alternate win-con.

You should also DEFINITELY be running Blood Artist . Sac 6 Shadowborn Apostle , your opponent loses 6 life and you gain 6 life... that's amazing synergy!

Also, you're lacking in removal but running the 2 best removal colors in the game. I'd suggest at least throwing a Path to Exile and Swords to Plowshares into the deck to deal with pesky commanders or big baddies, if not a few black destruction spells as well.

Other than those 2 suggestions, I must say... this deck looks incredibly fun to play!

May 14, 2014 2:16 p.m.

BearForce_02 says... #24

I would only add at least some white spells to this because I'm only seeing black... Suture priest? Oblivion Ring? Fiendslayer Paladin? Path to Exile? Norn's Annex? Plus other great cheap creatures! You could even put a Vault Skirge (Not white may I add) up in this! The white would really help with early game and stall for later game for high cost spells.

I also forgot about mentioning adding Dismember!
