Traded out Black Knight for a spare Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx I found I had stored away...

Awesome. Im building a sheoldred deck as we speak. -Cabal Coffers is an investment dollar wise but its soooo good. Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx is really good too. Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth makes your commander unblockable.

Yeah, I really need to get those. I have a single Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, but it's in use in another deck...Now I just need to pick up those, get some more things to pump up with all that mana, and my Sheoldred will be even more of a force to be reckoned with! (laughs maniacally)

I get that mana ramp is fun and all, but what are you doing with it? The average CMC is 3.5, so it isn't a super high curve. The most expensive card costs 7 and you have 4 of them. Your ramp is very good, don't get me wrong but playing huge creatures is FUN. Some examples:

-Avatar of Woe It's fun, it can be cheap, it kills things, what more do you want?

-Erebos, God of the Dead Not the most expensive card mana-wise, but stopping your opponents from gaining life is always great! He's a bit expensive money-wise but is still fun if you have the money

-Harvester of Souls A lot of things will die with Sheoldred. You will get a lot from this guy, trust me

-Braids, Cabal Minion A cheaper card, but you are making people sac even more things, you can get creatures back with Sheoldred and with ramp, it shouldn't be that big of a deal for you to sac land.

-Helldozer Destroying other people's land? Why not, you have ramp, you can pay for this, also, he is a giant (6,5). It's pretty great.

-Plague Wind Destroying everything that isn't yours is lots of fun for you (not everyone else) Money wise, it can be expensive, but if you don't need it to be nm, it should be relatively cheap

-Hex Enough said

Those are the only specific cards I have to offer, but I would recommend more removal for other permanents besides creatures. I hope you enjoy it.

P.S. If you ever get the money, Griselbrand

if you want to dead down the black mana ramp path there are a few cards i would recommenced.

Cabal Coffers Extraplanar Lens Vesuva Thespian's Stage Gauntlet of Power Doubling Cube Magus of the Coffers Sword of the Paruns Umbral Mantle these last go can generate infinate black mana with magus of the coffers.

i would also suggest 33 lands might be a little on the light side so Burnished Hart wopuld be great, especially with your commanders ability.

i run a mono black mana ramp deck as well. although it more based on vampire tribal. but it may have some ideas usefull for your mana base. For the Night is Dark and Full of Terrors....

also try Crypt Rats it is hilarious in edh in blowing stuff up. well at least in my meta anyway haha

Flytrigreen: Thanks for the suggestions! Yes, I realize the mana ramp is high for the curve, and that's what I want to fix, I want more mana sinks to be able to pump all that glorious black mana into. I thought about cramming a bunch of Shades in, but there's so much other potential goodness out there that I'm just not sure...I do have a Harvester of Souls in the deck currently, and although Griselbrand is banned in EDH, I do have him in the deck, I just replaced him in the list with Patron of the Nezumi so I wouldn't get yelled at for having an illegal card in the deck. (lol) But I will definitely look into your other suggestions, for sure.

slothman666: Awesome suggestions, thank you!! Even -more- mana ramping would be -sick!!- Especially if I can find a decent number of good mana sinks...

Damnable Pact and Exsanguinate and Shade's Form are all great cards for big mana. Oh and Maga, Traitor of Mortals.

Greed and Pestilence Demon are a couple more fun mana sinks.
