My original Railgun deck was a standard deck when Dragon's Maze was current. It featured Mercurial Chemister as the artistic railgun, Blast of Genius as the actual railgun, firing Catch / Release as the CMC 9 slug. Some of my most fun games were played with that deck. I tried to rebuild it during Theros but it never really came together.
I've become a Modern player since then. Travis Woo's article about Polymorph in modern and standard got me thinking about the ol' Railgun, and how I want to rebuild it. A U/R control deck with a cute win condition and a cool name? I'm in.

This is the digital workshop for a paper deck. That's why Woldspine Wum is the payload, not Emrakul, the Aeons Torn. And why the land base is what it is.
The game plan is to control the early game. Crack Wooded Foothills to get Dryad Arbor
and Polymorph it immediately for a Worldspine Wurm. The backup plan is to Blast of Genius a Wurm or Catch / Release, dumping the Wurm back into our deck and burning or Polymorphing the last bit of damage.
Calciform Pools lets me store excess mana and cast Release by producing white mana.
TWoo's original standard deck called for Epic Experiment, but I'm not sure I have the gravitas to run it.
