Pia's Scrap Metal Recycling

Standard Mono-Red

TheDrowningCow

Sideboard

Pia just acquired a scrap yard full of cheap trash and decided to bring her A game to the Inventors' Fair. Being a creative lass like she is, she decided to make a Rube QGoldberg machine, because what else do you make with a pile of trash.

To build a machine like this, you need to have a simple objective that you needlessly over complicate. Our objective? Reduce, reuse, and recycle. Mainly Reduce our opponent to zero, aka kill our opponent with non-combat damage.

How are we going to do this you say? Well we have 4 playsets of reducers to do this, and we're starting off with Mom herself, Pia's Revolution. Most cards serve more than one purpose in our deck and she serves two out of our three main roles, reduce and reuse. Play her asap to maximize her value. Next up is her intern, Reckless Fireweaver. Being an intern, he mostly sits around, stalling early attackers and passively reducing your opponent to zero while everyone else works. Next up is the diamond in the rough,Walking Ballista. Pia found 4 of these when she bought the place and it's probably the only thing in the machine that isn't garbage on its own. We all know it's good, moving on. Onto our final reducer. This one is also a recycler aka a cantrip. And it's Implement of Combustion. On paper, let's be honest, it's pretty garbage. But garbage is exactly what we want, so for two easy payments of 1 mana (1R) you get to cycle and deal 1 damage. But that's not all, you'll also get to trigger both reusers as well as the intern.

Onto our reusers. We already covered Mom so we only have two other mention here. Our other All Star is Scrap Trawler. He is what enables levels of ridiculousness, he is our "fun engine". Pair him with the intern and you can do things like playing Ballista for zero, Intern pings for 1, sac an Implement or other one costed piece of scrap to draw a card, return Ballista to your hand, and continue jank. Add Pia to the mix and your opponent is put in a feel bad spot seeing as they don't get much of a choice in our fun. Finally we have Scrapheap Scrounger. He helps put our opponents on a defensive position and can recour himself. Honestly he's just average but we needed a solid 2 drop and he fit the bill.

Finally we have our recyclers. Other people call these cantrips but we're all about saving the environment with this machine. If I haven't named it yet it fits in this column. They help us dig through our deck to assemble the machine or get land to let us do more each turn. Bomat Courier is the best turn one recycler. netting 2-3 cards off of him really helps fuel us to shenanigans.

The Sideboard is honestly just a maybeboard. Pieces that I feel can be synergistic with the deck. Leave me your thoughts and input. Thanks!
