As soon as Amonkhet, or Amonkats, was released, I wanted to make a Cat Tribal deck, because what could be more fun than ruling the board with kittens? Now that Hours of Devastation has given us some pawsitively amazing gifts in the form of more cats, I felt it was time to create this FNM Catastrophy.

Starting off the game, we have a nice selection of one drops that are full of value. Sacred Cat : My favorite Amonkhet cat, and a good one at that, a 1/1 lifelink for 1 provides an early game chump block or trade, with a lil life, and comes back later on in the game for just 1 more mana. Authority of the Consuls is a card packed full of value. Not only does it set your opponent back a turn, you start feeding off of every creature they play. Turn two consists of getting out creatures that aren't threats, but can easily become them. Adorned Pouncer isn't very exciting when first played, essentially a 2/1 for 2. But with all the counters and buffs flying around in this deck, even if he doesn't die he can become pretty nice as a 2/2 or 3/3 double strike. After dying, he comes back late game as a pretty sizable threat of a 4/4 double strike, which can also be pumped. Adaptive automation pumps our kitten army, not much explanation required. It's also basically a metal cat, pretty cool. Turn three gets out our cat lord if possible, otherwise Always Watching is a nice boost to all our little friends. At four mana, Annointed Procession comes online, and this really turns both Pride Sovereign and Regal Caracal into powerhouses. Regal Caracal is a great cat pumper and maker with tons of value, not much else to be said. Our curve topper, Ajani Unyielding, can often be gotten out a turn early with an Oath of Ajani , refuels your hand while filtering lands, and if he can be ultimated will get you an unstoppable cat army of lifelink or double strikers. A single copy of Felidar Sovereign has been included as an alternative win con, as I believe 40 life is achievable with this deck but not consistently. He might get removed for a better alternative after play testing.

Removal consists of Blessed Alliance and Decleration in Stone , providing lifegain and indestructible/mass removal respectively.

Pumping our kittens consists of Oath of Ajani , Metallic Mimic, Always Watching , and Regal Caracal. Scrounging Bandar can also work as a pump spell, and gets to be a larger pump spell as you pump him.

With this army of cute cuddly kittens nipping at your heels, you can easily rule the local game store every friday by mauling all of your opponents faces off!
