My take on budget -1/-1 counters

Pay-offs

The main point of the deck is to get out some combination of Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons for deathtouch-y blockers, Nest of Scarabs for potentially many blockers, and Obelisk Spider for drain

Enablers

Channeler Initiate is amazing if Hapatra or the nest are already out, otherwise it can help you ramp into getting them out

Ammit Eternal makes your opponent think twice about playing spells if any of the pay-offs are out, as well as being tough to block

Soul-Scar Mage is a nice 1-drop that gets pumped by its prowess, and turns Cut and card:Harnessed Lightening into more -1/-1 counters, actually getting around indestructible threats like the gods, and making a bunch of tokens too

I know the land base is clunky, but it's cheap and will survive rotation
