A Gruul Transmogrify deck aiming to cast Transmogrify on turn 4, exiling either a Satyr token from Satyr's Cunning, a zombie army token from Honor the God-Pharaoh or a dwarf from a turn 4 Dwarven Mine, and getting the only creature in the deck, one of three copies of Impervious Greatwurm.

If you are able to get out a Shadowspear or Ferocity of the Wilds between turns 1 and 4 you can give it trample, and the Shadowspear also has lifelink; if the opponent manages to enchant or exile the Wurm the life gained will see you through until you can Transmogrify again.

The rest of the deck has some removal for the first three turns while you are setting up (Lava Coil and Soul Sear) and eight cards to help you filter for your Transmogrifys (four Honor the God-Pharaoh which also double as token production, and four Cathartic Reunion).

There are three copies of Chandra, Acolyte of Flame which as well as providing 1/1s to Transmogrify also let you recast your removal spells or card filtering. There are also three copies of Domri, Anarch of Bolas which give a little ramp but more importantly allow you to use your Wurms to fight a creature the turn they come into play, if you can minus the Domri.

The sideboard has the following:

• Cindervines - for counter-heavy and artifact/enchantment matchups
• Return to Nature - multipurpose artifact/enchantment/graveyard hate
• Flame Sweep - for weenie/go-wide decks, although will also kill your 1/1s so be aware of that
• Fry - extra planeswalker hate on top of Soul Sear
• Heroic Intervention - important if you are up against decks playing blue or white enchantments that can exile your Wurms or Frogify them, also good against things like Claim the Firstborn.
• Soul-Guide Lantern - graveyard hate.
• Shifting Ceratops - in blue or blue-white matchups you can replace your Wurms with this. It dodges things like Frogify or Unsummon that would wreck the Wurms.
