Please comment! You're stuck out in the desert and have been wandering for days, no Island in sight, suddenly a Hpynotoad appears! You must be getting delirious, the dead are rising from the dunes! There's monsters everywhere! HEEEELLPPPP!!!! A pretty grindy Gitrog monster deck.
This deck focuses mainly around the synergy between the toad, Ramunap Excavator , and lands, with a little delirium thrown in. Lets start with the lands. Use Evolving Wilds over and over like a poor mans fetch land. and when you're all out of basics, Dunes of the Dead has proven to create great zombie hoards.
Next is the graveyard stuff and tutors. If i had more traverses I would run them. Vessel of Nascency and Grapple with the Past are a must, and Benefaction of Rhonas is a new one i'm trying with just two of.
Our little creatures make big threats late game. Gnarlwood Dryad is good to see early or late game. His deathtouch can stall our opponents and give us some time to get our combos going. While with Bloodbriar if we play him when we have Ramunap Excavator and The Gitrog Monster out, we can sac and bring back some Evolving Wilds and make our Bloodbriar a 4/5 right off the bat, not to mention when you sac a vessel he gets a counter. We also have one copy of Deathcap Cultivator for mana and more deathtouch late game.
Now big creatures, Ishkanah, Grafwidow duh. Im debating the Soul Swallower . But Ramunap Hydra has been pulling some weight!
As an additional mana sac I'm running x2 Merciless Resolve Some new cards i'm trying out are x1 Rhonas's Last Stand , x3 Destined/Lead , and x1 Hour of Promise . Destined/Lead is great for delirium being a instant and sorcery, and the second half works great with our deathtouch.
I feel Grim Flayer would be good here but I don't have the money for him
This deck is a lot of fun to play when it goes off. It's pretty grindy and going to rotate soon but oh well. Any help or ideas are appreciated! this is my first deck on here and id love your opinion!
