Fires of Invention
is busted, so this deck is made to use and abuse the ability of it.
First, Fires had three conditions. We may only cast spells equal to the amount of lands we have, we may only cast two spells a turn, and we may not cast spells on our opponent's turn.
The first criteria to meet is needing lands.
Cultivate
, and
Growth Spiral
are amazing ramp spells, as they will set us a turn ahead on lands. The color of lands in not needed once we get Fires, just the amount. We run a play set of both.
We may not cast spells on our opponent's turn. As such, we'll need ways that aren't counter spells to protect us from our opponent's interfering.
Sorcerous Spyglass
is a great way to do this, as it will disable cards our opponents control in their hands, whether they are using them to stop us or not. While not as helpful,
Pithing Needle
can help stop key pieces of popular decks.
Kambal, Consul of Allocation
is a powerful threat in our deck, putting a stop to non creature value based decks which we might have trouble with. This isn't commander, and every bit of life counts, so the damage from Kambal can add up.
Scavenging Ooze
is a powerful threat to our opponents, stopping graveyard and dredge strategies in their tracks. The best part, it can come down on turn 2, and start growing.
Gyruda, Doom of Depths
is a powerful finisher. As such, this deck is packed with powerful even CMC spells for Gyruda to cast for free.
Gyruda wishboard:
It That Betrays
: a powerful eldrazi, this creature will force opponents to sacrifice their own permanents whenever it attacks
Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger
: another titan eldrazi, this creature will most likely win games if we can cast it.
Massacre Wurm
: this card will shred through opponent's boards, wiping clean any token strategies, and losing opponents a great chunk of life.
Torgaar, Famine Incarnate
: this creature will destroy an opponent's life total, and be a powerful presence.
