2-2 at FNM —Jan. 12, 2013

In the first round I lost badly to a g/b zombie deck, I lost 2-0 thanks to a bad draw and a couple Knight of Infamys. Problem cards so far: Knight of Infamy. In the second round I played this guy running b/w/g tokens and no matter what I did he would have another Sorin, Lord of Innistrad, Thragtusk, or Intangible Virtue ready to go, and pump everything with Gavony Township and Vault of the Archangel. He would also gain insane amounts of life and at point was unto 56 life. I lost 2-0. Problem cards so far: Knight of Infamy, Sorin, Lord of Innistrad, Thragtusk, Intangible Virtue, Gavony Township, and Vault of the Archangel. The next game I got the guy down to five life when he got out Olivia Voldaren and stalled enough to get out Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker who destroyed my enchantments that had exiled Jace, Architect of Thought and Jace, Memory Adept. He managed to ultimate Bolas which destroyed me. The next game he mulliganed down to 4, and I beat him in three quick turns. The next game I won with my Silverblade Paladin Geist of Saint Traft combo soulbonding with the angel token and managed to win it 2-1. Problem cards so far: Knight of Infamy, Sorin, Lord of Innistrad, Thragtusk, Intangible Virtue, Gavony Township, Vault of the Archangel, and Olivia Voldaren. The next round was against a g/w aggro deck. In the first game I let him get me down to 5 life and bring out a ton of creatures, then Supreme Verdicted and killed him with my Geist-Paladin combo. The next game he got out a Sublime Archangel. I stalled for a while, but he ended up getting out a Wolfir Silverheart, bonding with a Loxodon Smiter and Rancored it, plus with the archangel out he annihilated me. The last game he got out some creatures and brought me to 11 life, I Supreme Verdicted after I Oblivion Ringed and Detention Sphered some of his creatures. I then brought out a Sphere of Safety, a Jace, Architect of Thought, a Tamiyo, the Moon Sage a Silverblade Paladin, and a Palisade Giant, and Ethereal Armor on the paladin. You could kind of tell I had won by that point. It was midnight by then, and we still had a round to go, so I left. Problem Cards: Knight of Infamy, Sorin, Lord of Innistrad, Thragtusk, Intangible Virtue, Gavony Township, Vault of the Archangel, Olivia Voldaren, Wolfir Silverheart, and Sublime Archangel. I have decided to move in both Supreme Verdicts for a Sphere of Safety and Jace, Architect of Thought.

Palisade Giant is ironically the worst card in the deck. I'd choose either it or Sphere of Safety .

Since your opt to use Geist of Saint Traft , your probably better off going all in on the sphere.

MagnaLynx21 what's wrong with Palisade Giant ?

bobior, I already have 2 Dissipate s in the sideboard, and 2 witchbane orbs for bonfires, plus I don't have enough creatures to care about board wipes.

Thanks for suggestions, if not done so already plz +1.

I would say add some Judge's Familiars... nice to have a 1/1 flier for one in the early game. In addition to it's ability to force an opponent to either leave one mana untapped, or risk them getting a spell countered. Worst comes to worst it is a good chump blocker. This deck really lacks early game defenses.

card:Judge's Familiars are sweet, but I already have 2x Precinct Captain s, 2x Feeling of Dread s, 2x Silverblade Paladin s, 3x Geist of Saint Traft , 2x Divine Deflection , 4x Detention Sphere , 4 Oblivion Ring s, and even more in my sideboard, so I should be okay. If you like plz +1.

It's generally the fact that for six mana, it doesn't do enough that Sphere of Safety wouldn't already do, while Sphere of Safety also has more overall synergy with this deck.

I like Palisade Giant s to protect against burn, but I have to admit, Sphere of Safety s are awesome. I'm thinking about putting in another for an o-ring. what do you think? I am definitely playing a playset of the giants though.

Feel free to buy your playset, if they cost anymore than 50p each, I'll eat my hat :')

As for the additional O-Ring, I would recommend adding one extra to the side, while adding at least one more Ethereal Armor to the main deck, as an additional or aiding to the kill condition or the deck. Invisible Stalker would be a fine addition if you were to go on that route. However, this list still feels that its caught between being a true control deck and a midrange deck.

You guessed it, 50 cents. I don't really need more ethereals because my creatures are already big enough.

I had that before, just didn't work out so well, and if Palisade Giant is taking 7+ damage, she's done her job well, and I don't really feel like it's worth 9 mana and waiting for turn 7. Much rather spend that mana on card:Sphinx's Revelation or Angel of Serenity . Thx for comment, feel free to +1.

You've obviously put a ton of work into this and its a great deck. +1. I personally dig the card:Azor's Elocutors. I noticed you use to have them in here. I run them in a proliferate deck. Infectious proliferation
