what you should add is Mindslaver. once you have daretti's ultimate it reads you control every players turn for the rest of the game. the only way for it to stall is for a concession once you target a player. all you need to do is tap everyone else out during there turns and they can't respond to your activations any other way.

I don't know how I would make room for Mindslaver. Any suggestions?

Very nice magicevan11! Makes me rethink some of my recent cuts like Steel Hellkite and Dross Scorpion.

Thanks, FeralKitten, I appreciate it. I have spent a lot of time working on this deck. The only thing missing is a Crucible of Worlds, but I don't have the cash for one. I am going to try to fit in some time to work on a card by card description for my deck. I hope we can convince more people to try out Daretti. By the way, I like how you edited your username. Would you mind sharing some code for that sweet username?

I would take out Thopter Assembly, i've just never really liked the card. other than that, i would say either Sliversmith or Codex Shredder

Thopter Assembly is crucial in my deck. It gives me 5 flying tokens. Without chump blockers, Daretti goes back to my command zone really quick. Codex Shredder is a very versatile card. I can fill up my graveyard with reanimation targets, make you mill the card you just put on the top of your library with Mystical Tutor or Enlightened Tutor, or return a card from my graveyard to my hand. Sliversmith lets me discard cards and then reanimate them the same turn with Daretti. As opposed to devoting one turn to discarding with Daretti, and then spending the next turn reanimating the card. Sliversmith also provides chump blockers, Skullclamp fodder, and sac fodder. The only card in this deck that I feel isn't entirely consistent is Mimic Vat. However, one day I am going to imprint a Rune-Scarred Demon on it. Mimic Vat is just one of those cards that isn't consistent, but when it goes off, it goes off with a bang!

Just thought I'd drop this nugget with you:

Outpost Siege to go with your Dross Scorpion + Pentavus + 3+ mana combo, it's an instant-win in Dragons mode and still a useful card in Khans mode (red's Phyrexian Arena). I put the scorpion back in my deck, so this is definitely an interaction I'm thinking about.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll playtest it.

I just tried it out. I don't like how if you choose Khans, you're forced to exile a card, because I cycled a Decree of Annihilation so I didn't have lands anymore. The next turn I exiled Bosh, Iron Golem with Outpost Siege. I couldn't play Bosh and since he was exiled, I couldn't play him the rest of the game. I am going to pass. Purphoros, God of the Forge gives me an instant-win with dross and pentavus anyways.

I almost want to build this to play against my buddies mono blue artifact deck.

The deck is a lot of fun. You can win out of nowhere with lucky draws or tutoring out a combo. The last game I played, someone used Null Brooch to counter my comet storm for infinite damage. I was pretty bummed out, but I followed up with the Pentavus + Dross Scorpion trick to get infinite untaps to destroy all his permanents with Lux Cannon.

Another good add on for Purphoros, God of the Forge infinite damage combo with the infinite mana run is Ancestral Statue + Purphoros, God of the Forge

I built the early version of this deck that you post, and well I get a lot of hate because it wrecks peoples days.

That's a good idea. I've seen people abuse Ancestral Statue in Animar decks, but never with Daretti. I'm glad it's wrecking face, haha. Do you have a list? I'd like to see how different my current list is from yours.

I'll try and post it later, with a couple mods I was also looking at.

My slightly changed version to your original and always in the works.

I used to play with Bosh, but I think his activated ability is not worth its cost. I've seen people do crazy things with him once Daretti's emblem comes out. Though, Bosh isn't what I want for this deck.

The Chain Veil + Voltaic Key + Rings of Brighthearth while in infinite mana, but single turn ultimate for Daretti, Scrap Savant

I must be a weird person, but I don't consider getting the emblem my #1 priority. I find that using the +2 and -2 alone is great value.

June 3, 2015 7:33 p.m.

It hasn't been a top priority in most games, but with The Chain Veil it allows a lot of manipulation with hand and grave yard. Just another trick in there to get what you want and/or need.

So I might be just ignorant of it but I just found this deck. Why aren't you running Hellkite Tyrant ?

June 7, 2015 5:58 p.m.

magicevan11 says... #23

Clone and other clone effects can copy Hellkite Tyrant. I don't want all of my artifacts stolen.

June 8, 2015 12:06 p.m.

Have you considered trying out Hellkite Igniter? That dragon is capable of killing a player off out of nowhere.

I've tried it out. Every time I have played it, I didn't have enough mana left over to pump it to lethal. I would pass my turn, and it would get removed before I could attack again. Also, they are rough to get early in the game, because I can't reanimate it. If it was an artifact creature, I'd be all for it.
