Enchantment (2)

Howdy. This deck is my first venture into playing magic in the past decade or so, and the first time putting something out to the internet for criticism.

The basic plan here is to dump cards into the graveyard and establish card advantage via cycling mechanics, supreme will if other counters are available, and strategic planning.

While using control to keep my opponents tempo at bay, I try to close around "mid game" with a couple of vile manifestations, or wait it out until apocalypse deamon or big R comes up and is capable of finishing them off.

The abandoned sarcophagus lets me cast a great number of cards from the graveyard, which provides a great deal of flexibility, and can enable me to cast one of the few creatures I have in the deck as sacrificial material for apoc demon for example. Consign helps deal with non creature permanents, and offers the ability to also bounce the sarcophagus back to my hand if I need to prevent something from being exiled due to its condition.

The sideboard is basically more extensive creature control/defense for situations where 1:1 exchanges aren't enough to disrupt my opponents tempo. Ob nixilus offers a lot of versatility as well. The watchers of the dead are for decks that benefit from cards in the graveyard like zombies and cryptic serpent/enigma Drake blue red decks, which I play against very often. Against other slow moving or light creature decks, I put in faith of the devoted to simply sap away at life.

Finally, the Archdemon of ifnir is included for pretty much nothing but style. I saw the promo version prior to amonkhet's release, and it was such a cool looking card I couldn't help but decide to give the game another shot. It also has some use, though it's certainly not potent enough to be considered a win condition.

Style and flavor are very important to me. I'm certain this isn't close to being "optimized," however I feel like it has a good blend of potency and "rule of cool." The biggest challenge I face is increasing effectiveness while maintaining the feel and style of the deck.

Thanks for reading, hope you find it interesting.
