Sideboard

Maybeboard

Hi,

The main idea behind this deck to be able to use Priest of the Blood Rite to advantage with Nantuko Husk and Alesha, Who Smiles at Death. The Priest of the Blood Rite can drop to create the 5/5 demon and then sac it to pump Nantuko Husk. Then Alesha, Who Smiles at Death can bring Priest of the Blood Rite back to create another demon.

Most of the rest of the deck are creatures that can also be brought back by Alesha, Who Smiles at Death and still be useful and basic removal.

I admit to not being great at deck building, but I think this basic strategy has some merit. I would like to see if it can be developed into a somewhat competitive deck for FNM.

Any and all help is very much appreciated.

Updates Add

Hi,

I have updated the deck a bit now. I have included two Mob Rule into the deck instead of four Act of Treason. The Mob Rule with Nantuko Husk can become close to a board wipe for the opponent plus damage from his own creatures. I have also added one Volcanic Vision. If it can bring back a Necromantic Summons that can also be close to a board wipe for the opponent, and next turn I get the pick of whatever was killed off.

I have also added Acolyte of the Inferno and Bloodfire Enforcers. I can’t bring them back with Alesh, Who Smiles at Death, but the Acolyte of the Inferno works really well as an attacking creature against anything with 2 toughness. The Bloodfire Enforcers can be triggered, so a 5/2 with first strike and trample is good as a deterrent against attacking opponents.

I took out the Gray Merchant of Asphodel as I found I was not consistently getting more than 3 life out of it. My opponents didn’t seem to care so much about that, and unless the combo with Alesha, Who Smiles at Death and Nantuko Husk gets pulled of a few times there was otherwise no real value. Tymaret, the Murder King didn’t really work out either. 2 mana and a creature for 2 damage to player only, actually ended up costing me more in the long run. Collateral Damage gets 3 damage to creature or player for one mana less. I know I got a 2/2 body as well, but the 2/2 wasn’t even holding against most one drop creatures at the moment and I found that depleting my board presence without hurting theirs was a problem.

I think this deck is getting close to working out now, but I still would love some input, help and opinions. Thanks very much.
