Deckling -
There are many reasons why I play Commander and find it such an enjoyable format. Singleton means games are rarely the same, Commanders are being printed every block set, they use a very small ban list, and most importantly they have access to almost every card, meaning that one day a card could be useless for 15 years, and they print one commander and suddenly its a staple of the deck. I really enjoy playing paper magic, its a jot more enjoyable to me holding that special commander ive been spending weeks getting the cards for, and while I dont build decks to be table wipers, I do build them to be reliable, getting a consistent landbase cough cough Scion, keeping a handful of cards, getting the deck to work as intended even if it doesnt come in first place.
All that being said I often run into the phrase:
"I'm gonna make a deck!"
