Griselbrand! Dormi Rade? STOIC ANGEL?!?
wtf
About fking time they reprinted damnation. I need like all of them.
I'm also glad I got my box ordered for the price it was, these low prices won't stay that way for long, considering what they just spoiled makes this set great, value wise.

Lol thats true. Maybe they reprinted the Guildgates to offset the pull rate for fetches???

Hmmm I bet Maze's End gets reprinted in this set for kicks.

Is it just me or is the new Goblin Guide art pretty bad?
Maybe we'll have another Daybreak Coronet situation..
February 27, 2017 12:50 p.m.
Yeah, the new Goblin Guide artwork is definitely not as good as the old one, IMO.
On an unrelated note, what are everyone's thoughts on the set symbol? I personally don't like it as much as the previous Modern Masters expansions. If you're not paying attention, it looks kind of like the Divine vs. Demonic symbol.

ThinkJank- If you're not looking directly at it, it does look like the Divine vs Demonic symbol now that you mention it.

Do you think it's worth a 160 preorder? I'm so close
February 27, 2017 1:05 p.m.
GeminiSpartanX says... #15
dottydog6111- Yes. Snatch that up right now. With Snapcaster in this set along with fetches that's a no-brainer as far as buying a box. Even if they don't include LotV, this set seems worth it for that price.

preordered a box for $180. That price i am sure is long gone as an option. But if there is a large print run of this, I will buy another box or two at hopefully 199 each.
Zen fetches......Damnation.......my God
February 27, 2017 1:16 p.m.
Who called fetches and was doubted by all of you? I did.
February 27, 2017 1:41 p.m.
I never betted anything. I only hoped that Cavern of Souls gets reprinted (and I still do).
February 27, 2017 1:47 p.m.
I've been calling Zen fetches and Goblin Guide for months, none of my friends believed me. Well look what we have here, Zen fetches and Goblin Guide.
February 27, 2017 1:57 p.m.
My hope for a noble hierarch reprint is going up in flames at this point. Did snag 2 Grove of the Burnwillows though, as those and horizon canopy have been confirmed no-reprint.
Edit: MM3 number crunch for anyone interested

I think cavern is still live? Between Boros Guildgate and Crumbling Necropolace... just keep in mind it's a google doc and open for anyone to edit, including people who just want to fuck around.

Yes! Damnation is finally being reprinted! It has taken far too long for this to happen, so it was at least nice that WotC acknowledged how long it took them to do so. The fact that it is being reprinted in this set greatly decreases its chances of being reprinted in the Amonkhet block, but any reprint is better than no reprint at all, and I am certain that Hour of Devastation shall have some form of mass destruction effect.
The Zendikar fetchlands are also very welcome, as well, since they have been long overdue for a reprint. I definitely am now very excited for this set.
SwaggyMcSwagglepants, I like that art, because it is much more badass than is the original art; I actually thought that it was illustrated by Wayne Reynolds, until I read the artist's name on the card.
February 27, 2017 2:49 p.m.
kyuuri117 is right, there is an open land slot that begins with a C. Cavern of Souls is still a huge possibility.
February 27, 2017 2:50 p.m.
I hope it goes in. It's the most expensive land to warrant a reprint (I think?).
February 27, 2017 2:52 p.m.
Possible cards between Boros Guildgate and Crumbling Necropolis (excluding lands thats part of a cycle)
Boseiju, Who Shelters All
Buried Ruin
Cathedral of War
Cavern of Souls
City of Brass
Contested War Zone
Crucible of the Spirit Dragon

I would love a Boseiju reprint! Hope they slotted that one in!
February 27, 2017 3:36 p.m.
Is there still any chance possibly of Noble Hierarch, or am I just going to have to buy a playset of them probably?
February 27, 2017 3:39 p.m.
APPLE01DOJ says... #31
I like the Goblin Guide art and it's one of the cards I look forward to picking up as I already have Damnation and the fetches I need.
I think it would be swell if they also printed Legion Loyalist
February 27, 2017 4:05 p.m.
I am guessing City of Brass as the land slot because they said in the article the lands are all about mana fixing and they have a built in archetype specifically for counter magic. So i'm calling no Cavern.
February 27, 2017 6:25 p.m.
I hope it's rather still Cavern of Souls though. They have plenty enough lands for color fixing I think already anyways.

They are reprinting enemy fetches.
Should I preorder them now or wait till they drop? Or will they even drop at all?
I just know I need/want to get a playset of each, maybe two. Athat and damnation,
February 27, 2017 7:26 p.m.
Can someone help me think through this idea I just had?
idea: we are very unlikely to see a Blood Moon reprint in MM3
reasons: I think the focus of the set is multicolored. They printed mana fixing nonbasic lands at every rarity except mythic, and I'm sure there's a reason for that. Because wizards loves to design these for limited environments, and because players hate to lose to mana denial, my guess here is that wizards specifically does not print a card that can screw over and invalidate a lot of the drafting and deckbuilding people do in a sealed situation.
Thoughts? Does the existence of all the color fixing lands hint that we probably won't see a blood moon?
February 27, 2017 7:27 p.m.
waffledevouror says... #36
saj0219 Also Wizards just doesn't like Blood Moon.

waffledevouror says... #38
Does anyone else think that Stoic Angel means a bant control limited archetype?
February 27, 2017 7:41 p.m.
No waffledevouror. The archetypes stated are as follows:
White-Blue Blink - Use creatures with enter-the-battlefield abilities and ways to reuse these abilities
Blue-Black Instant Control Use lots of instants and counterspells to control the board
Black-Red Unearth An aggressive deck that uses creatures with unearth to keep attacking
Red-Green Go Wide Make tokens and use cards that make them all bigger
Green-White Populate - Take advantage of the populate mechanic from Return to Ravnica

demonicgrizzly - Here is an interesting article put out today by MTGGoldFish on that similar line of thought. If you completely buy into the article, I'd say wait a month. It is something to consider at least when gauging when to by MM3 reprints.
February 27, 2017 8:45 p.m.
Great article Hi_diddly_ho_neighbor; thanks for sharing!

Hi_diddly_ho_neighbor that was a good article. Thanks for sharing!
February 27, 2017 11:26 p.m.
So with a go wide strategy and a populate strategy, who be sides me, thinks Doubling Season is getting a reprint? I know its not been confirmed or even mentioned, but it fits the theme of two of the archetypes and is in need of a reprint.

So I'm speculating a Bloodghast reprint along with Spell Snare.

Molten Rain just got spoiled, so perhaps there will be a minor land destruction theme available in this set after all. Also spoiled: Harmonize.
