GrimlockVIII I don't play pauper so I can't really speak to that format, but I think the extra 1 mana in it's reanimation ability will prevent it from working it's way into commander decks looking to abuse Reassembling Skeleton combos. The fact that it can't combo with both Phyrexian Altar and Ashnod's Altar really hurts. I think I'd still run Tenacious Dead and Nether Traitor as back up options to Reassembling Skeleton over this new card.

*can't combo with Phyrexian Altar without additional help beyond the normal 3 card combo.

Ok folks, which card is

"A new mechanic that removes something never removed before"

from MaRo's teaser?

I totally missed it or is that Cleave?

Putting an actual face on Muddstah's voice feels disconcerting after all these years of disembodied match naration. Onto his new Commander deck cards:

Donal, Herald of Wings: The once-per-turn limitation can obviously be bypassed with flash support. No doubt there's some infinitive combo involving bouncing or copying Donal repeatedly in order to copy more than once a turn. Also, it's Donal, not Dolan

Rhoda // Timin: Is that a kid ghost? Anyway, they feel overcosted to me, especially Timin. Is the comparsion to Topplegeist unfair? Dawnglare Invoker is fun here. Sadly, Authority of the Consuls and friends don't cause creatures to become tapped. Verity Circle is an obvious inclusion.

Disorder in the Court: There's still a justice system during the end times?

Sudden Salvation: Borderline insulting attempt at giving mono-white Concentrate

Meh, the Vampire deck did't introduce any particularly interesting Blood-matters cards IMO. Arterial Alchemy seems less of a card for a "Blood matters" deck and more for a deck that appreciate getting three Equipment:s that give a total of +6/+0.

Not really a fan of Laurine having pink hair, feels out of place for the plane.

There's probably a guaranteed insta-win combo with Buried Alive and Sinister Waltz.

Timothar: If you die in the bat, you die in real life. Jokes aside, too high mana value to be interesting to me.

Glass-Cast Heart: Too slow in a general Vampire tribal deck, but it's a pretty good finisher for Strefan, Maurer Progenitor ála Exsanguinate

Imposing Grandeur: I guess if you're going with a big red/boros commander and your playgroup tends to favor smaller commander, this could be worth it over the regular discard-hand-draw-seven wheels, as it'd actually give you card advantage over people.

Coward_Token, who has pink hair? Can you link the card? I'm not about to scour the entire database to find it...

I dislike how crossway troublemakers grants lifelink and deathtouch only to attacking vampires, as that encourages attacking, not blocking, and I would like to see this game be about more than simply aggressively attacking with creatures.

The new artwork on Swords to Plowshares, Nirkana Revenant, and Drogskol Captain is most excellent, so I am glad for it.

Timothar’s ability is quite awesome, but the tokens that he generates do not have haste and are very vulnerable, so the chance of recovering the exiled creature is less than optimal, unless the player has methods of protecting the tokens.

Why is disorder in the court blue and white, the two colors most concerned with order and structure? Will it be a suitable replacement for Turn to Mist in my Chulane, Teller of Tales EDH deck?

I like how spectral arcanist can cast spells from any graveyard, but the fact that it does not have flash limits its usefulness.

Ethereal investigator definitely should have been white, considering that it generates white tokens.

Sudden salvation is definitely a form of card drawing that feels white without violating white’s weaknesses.

Donal, herald of wings and whispering wizard could have been so awesome if they did not have the "once per turn" clause; why does WotC seem to think that that clause is a good idea?

On the other hand, the fact that haunted library does not have a "once per turn" clause is amazing, so I expect that that card shall be very popular and powerful.

Storm of souls is very nice, but the fact that it reduces all the creatures to 1/1’s means that its caster shall need another methods of making them more powerful, which is easy to do in white, thankfully.

Sinister waltz is amazing, and costs only five mana to recover three creatures, so I hope that I can find a way to fit it into some of my decks that contain red and black.

Glass-cast heart again suffers from the same problem from which all mass life drain has, recently, in that the amount of life gained does not increase with the number of opponents who lose life; why did WotC make that change?

Also, on that subject, the fact that WotC still has not printed a creature version of Exquisite Blood really annoys me, since this was the perfect set in which to print such a card; when will they ever print such a card?

Playing Imposing Grandeur for big mono-red commander card advantage seems less fun if your playgroup is being stalked by a Ghalta, Primal Hunger player

End the Festivities is a humble common that deserves mention, being a strictly better version of Blazing Volley, another humble yet noteworthy common. Killing swats of your average mana dork while potentially chipping away at the local superfriends deck isn't bad at all for one mana, esp. in cEDH.

Does anyone here think that Cradle of Safety should have been green? All colors can have flash, and both of its effects are very green.

Could have been hybrid really? All colors get simple +1/+1 auras, and blue also uses hexproof as pseudo-counterspells. (And it's a functional reprint of Starlit Mantle.)

Child of the Pack  Flip depicts a human girl, but her transformed side, Savage Packmate, has an extremely masculine body; why is that? Did WotC not wish to have any clearly female werewolves?

Eh, I'd say that Child of the Pack seems to be going for some extreme contrast between a frail child and an extremely buff werewolf. Like, you would see this little red ridinghood-lookin shit and think, "Heh, she's just a kid, what can she possibly do?" only to shit your pants upon realizing what her werewolf form looks like.

Plus that werewolf we got in AFR has a feminine figure, so female werewolves aren't completely out of the picture.

I would think that something like Tavern Ruffian  Flip looks kinda sus cuz certain features like the hairline and jawline just do not do her human form any favors.
