Wow, Leovold is amazing! When I eventually build a black/blue/green EDH deck (which will not be any time soon, since I just started building a black/white/green EDH deck), I will definitely get a copy of him for it. He would be awesome as the general, but I have already chosen The Mimeoplasm for that role, so he instead will be an ordinary creature for it.
Also, the article in which Leovold was revealed confirms that the city of Trest is on Fiora, a fact that was strongly implied, but not explicitly confirmed, when Edric was reprinted in the first Conspiracy set.
The reprint of Burgeoning is another very nice reprint, and I had actually forgotten that that card existed, let alone was in need of a reprint.
Thus far, I am finding this set to be as excellent as was the first Conspiracy set, and I am very pleased with the job that WotC is doing on it.

Spy Kit can be abused in EDH. With Cornered Market.
You're welcome.
August 17, 2016 2:50 p.m.
"People can't play nonlegendary creature spells."
Just go the full way with Pithing Needle and AEther Storm. Heck, throw in a Dovescape and Night of Souls' Betrayal while you're at it. Rest in Peace, Armageddon, and Land Equilibrium are just bonuses. Finally, throw in a Shared Fate so that nobody decks out. Now THAT'S what I call a fun game of commander.
Oh wait, how do I get this back on topic? Oh yeah, my last post regarding Spy Gear was the last post on page 5, so you may have missed it.
August 17, 2016 3:02 p.m.
What about Isochron Scepter + Mask of the Mimic with some Spy Gear? Now that can get crazy. Throw in Seedborn Muse and you got one heck of a party. Man, I can't wait for conspiracy to come out just so I can get Spy Gear. Is that a little sad?

SirFowler The mark of a true magic player is to like a mediocre card above all others.
August 17, 2016 3:45 p.m.
did not expect Duskmantle Seer reprint.. Seems fun in the draft format.
August 17, 2016 4:14 p.m.
smackjack WHAT? Checks mythicspoiler.
Oh, thank god (sorry theists) it's rare. I was about to flip out.
There's also a one-sided Doran conspiracy at rare.

Daretti seems nuts. Not Dack level nuts, but Eternally playable nuts.
Also, Burgeoning and Serum Visions?!? Wizards, you shouldn't have...

DarthSmitty your comment kinda made my day. Tiny Leaders opponents get boned Leovald coming in and ruining fun for all. Now just need to add Crucible and Strip Mine lock and Sultai Stax Tiny Leaders. Tiny Leaders meta get wrecked no more Shu Yun storm.

Daedalus19876 says... #14
I didn't know people still played Tiny Leaders, TBH.
August 17, 2016 5:10 p.m.
Leovold tempo in edh and tiny leaders would be good as well imo.
August 17, 2016 5:46 p.m.
Daedalus19876 says... #17
Entertainingly, Leovold combos very well with Edric.
August 17, 2016 5:59 p.m.
davidsays1 Assault Formation has two additional effects. Doran is more similar in function, even if the card itself has an identical effect to one on Assault Formation.
And btw guys I disagree that Leovold and Edric combo. The beauty of Edric is that it makes every opponent pummel each other, but playing Leovold too is begging for them to kill you before anyone else.
August 17, 2016 6:04 p.m.
SwaggyMcSwagglepants says... #19
Leovold has to be a $10 card at least.
Conspiracy has me more hyped than Eternal Masters did. And believe me, I was HYPED during EMN Spoiler season.
August 17, 2016 6:14 p.m.
davidsays1 says... #21
I play both cards in my doran deck im just naming assault formation since it hits only your side disregarding the extra abilities since i never use them myself.
August 17, 2016 6:20 p.m.
If Edric was banned in Tiny leaders, I have a feeling Leovold will be too. I mean, the format kinda died down, but it's still a format...technically. Just think of the broken things you'd be able to do in tiny leaders. Windfall, Dark Deal, Howling Mine, the list goes on and on how broken he can be, especially as a commander. Throw a Kira, Great Glass-Spinner down, then they would have to target creatures twice, giving you even more advantage.
Anyway, conspiracy...worth it?

Canadion, to answer your question on the previous page, RB artifacts really isn't a thing, but you could always add blue and play Grixis artifacts in commander with Mishra, Artificer Prodigy!
August 18, 2016 1:20 a.m.
SwaggyMcSwagglepants says... #27
@CastleSiege how does that deck even work? Isn't Mishra's ability useless?
August 18, 2016 1:36 a.m.
Daedalus19876 says... #28
SwaggyMcSwagglepants: Nether Void, Blood Funnel, Goblin Artificer, and stack shenanigans. Turns out if you counter your own artifact, you can grab it from the GY and put it into play.
August 18, 2016 1:39 a.m.
CastleSiege says... #29
SwaggyMcSwagglepants, The deck is super gimicky but is functional with a handful of cards because of the way the stack works. To be efficient, the deck needs to be able to run without Mishra in case these cards are removed.
Nether Void, Possibility Storm, and Blood Funnel are the main enablers. With Nether Void, you let your artifact get countered, then Mishra's ability resolves, finds an artifact with the same name in the graveyard, and puts it into play. Same idea with Possibility Storm and Blood Funnel, however, with Possibility Storm you get a 2-for-1.
The new Daretti should be able to slot in perfectly for silly shenanigans.
August 18, 2016 1:42 a.m.
SwaggyMcSwagglepants says... #30
@Daedalus19876 so if I use a counterspell on my card, I get it from the graveyard? Why don't you just cast it and be done? Is there something I'm missing from an artifact coming back from the graveyard?
Oh wait nvm :P
August 18, 2016 1:42 a.m. Edited.
CastleSiege says... #32
SwaggyMcSwagglepants, Mishra is typically a stax build. The aforementioned cards tax your opponents and make it harder for them to play the game while you still get to play unscathed. But this is getting the thread off topic lol.
August 18, 2016 1:44 a.m.
Bad news, Daedalus19876. You said Goblin Artificer, but I'm pretty sure you meant Goblin Welder. Goblin Artificer is a deck.
But yeah, everyone's desperately going to try to kill Leovold because he's really good, Dragonlair Spider is a nice spoiler in a distinct attempt to troll Ishkanah players, and Daretti fits into one or two decks at most due to weird color identity. Reaper King, Mishra, and perhaps some Grixis artifact deck in legacy/vintage are going to use him.
There's also a theory to cover. Cards like Imprisoned in the Moon are spoiled on the last or second to last spoiler day bc story spoilers. Since Selvala has not been spoiled yet, it can be theorised that she does actually become the senator or something. Though this is probably not the case.
August 18, 2016 3:54 a.m.
@ DarkLaw - Unless they decide to go the U.S.A. route and have a president. Dun dun dun!
"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United City-States of Fiora and to the republic for which it stands..."

DarkLaw: I actually meant Goblin Artisans, sorry.
August 18, 2016 4:20 a.m.
August 18, 2016 5:21 a.m.
DarkLaw Well, there's no more space for new multicolour creatures (they are 73-78, or Adriana to Queen Marchesa, with Spy Kit directly after), so if we do get a new Selvala, she'll be mono coloured.
August 18, 2016 7:04 a.m.
Bah, they shouldn't have reprinted duskmantle. He doesn't even synergize with the sultai legendary because your opponents will still get an extra card each turn.

so wityh grenzo my mono red deck becomes any color for the turn? right?
August 18, 2016 11:09 a.m.
...And every Krenko EDH player and their mother wet themselves upon Grenzo 2's reveal.
August 18, 2016 11:14 a.m.
Grenzo will fit great in my Alesha, Who Smiles at Death edh deck. Another reason to run Break Through the Line.
Conspiracy 2 is looking sweet for edh
August 18, 2016 11:16 a.m.
I can't believe they gave red an ability straight off of Daxos of Meletis! I mean I'm glad they are expanding what
can do it's just that literally I was stunned when I realized what they'd done. And in a good way. Looks like when Daxos became Daxos the Returned he passed the torch mechanically eh?
I feel like with Alesha they are doing a good job at pushing cards to give Mardu a sort of "low cmc creaure" identity that's not tied to tribal.
Also the Skyline Despot is the first Monarch card I like.. big dragon that makes more big dragons? Sweet.

Phaetion I assure you I am quite dry but I can't say much for my incontinent mother. This new Grenzo is cool and would definitely end up in my Krenko EDH though!
So say I have this new Grenzo, Brightstone Ritual and 30 gobs out. 10 attack and are unblocked which triggers the 2nd mode of Grenzo's ability 10 times. If I end up using the Ritual during my Main Phase 2 to add X
to my mana pool (X = 30+), I am able to use that
for let's say a
spell my opponent has exiled? Or does the mana have to come from a land I control?
Just trying to get it straight for future reference.
August 18, 2016 11:38 a.m.
davidsays1 says... #47
I know its for the exiled card thats what im asking my mountain can then tap for any color until the turn ends for the 1 card i think thats pretty cool
August 18, 2016 11:41 a.m.
@ Faceless_Being - Grenzo doesn't care where the mana you spend comes from. Think of it as having unlimited activations of Prophetic Prism's filter ability whenever you spend mana except the filtering all happens in the background.
August 18, 2016 11:45 a.m.
iBleedPunk says... #49
Thanks kengiczar. This new Grenzo is definitely worth a slot then. I may have to include Brightstone Ritual + Isochron Scepter in my Krenko EDH just so I can go crazy when Grenzo is out.
August 18, 2016 11:49 a.m.
@ Faceless_Being - Somehow I missed that it said "whenever a creature you control deals"... after having first seen this on Daxos of Meletis I guess I skimmed over it and just assumed it only worked when Krenko did the damage.
Damnit mono
!

sorry for the double.
