What goes in a Reanimator?

So, I'm completely aware of the fact you need targets to reanimate, such as Balefire Dragon or something, the card to actually reanimate it, but beyond that, what should go in as far as board control, or something like draw power? Keep in mind, this is going to be 5 colors, so we're not really limited in that factor...

Cards to fill your graveyard and protect your combo. Fill grave yard: Faithless Looting , Mulch , Grisly Salvage are a few. Protect your combo: Abrupt Decay , Golgari Charm , Oblivion Ring to counter graveyard hate. Deathrite Shaman has good synergy, too.

I would also like to mention, this is NOT a standard reanimator deck. Thanks for some of the ideas.

If you're not limiting yourself to standard, you get to look at things like Careful Study , Entomb , Buried Alive , Careful Study , Putrid Imp , Exhume , Animate Dead , and Reanimate . Some of the classic fatties are Inkwell Leviathan , Blazing Archon , Griselbrand , Iona, Shield of Emeria , and Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur . For draw power, Brainstorm and Ponder are good. Daze and Thoughtseize help you stick your threats when they have countermagic and/or removal.

There's also a few Legacy builds that use Emrakul, the Aeons Torn , reanimated with Goryo's Vengeance or Makeshift Mannequin .

...how do they get Emrakul into the graveyard?

By discarding him.

The two cards that sylvannos mentions are instants. Therefore they can be cast as a response to the Emrakul trigger that would regularly shuffle the graveyard into the library. The shuffling will still occur, but Emrakul will already be on the battlefield before it happens.
