Old commanders that are competitive

Hi guys,
I was thinking of building a commander deck, but I want to do it using a legendary creature that belongs to old mtg editions.
What legendary creatures that belong to editions prior to, let's say, Urza's Legacy do you know?

I have heard that Sliver Queen does terrible things to opponents faces. Merieke Ri Berit was timeshifted, but originally came from ice age.

Lessee.
Vhati il-Dal has a deck on here I saw somewhere that looked neato. Goes well with Pestilence.
Zirilan of the Claw is a rockin' badass lizard.
Phelddagrif is the classic group-hugger.
Eron the Relentless is... he's... he's from Homelands and he's not bad, okay?
Merieke Ri Berit can be mean.

Hanna, Ship's Navigator is a good commander, or so I have heard.

I peeked through the listing of Elder Dragons. Most of the good ones come from the Onslaught or Time Spiral block. Nicol Bolas is a decent commander for a grixis deck, I'd say he's the best out of the Legends Elder Dragons.

Never forget Captain Sisay. Basically modern pod in EDH. (very toolboxy)

All I'm gonna say is that Merieke Ri Berit is potentially the best. Although you can always do cat tribal voltron on Jedit. As kinda funny but not super competitive lol.

Not so much to choose from, maybe from Urza's Saga I can choose Karn Silver Golem?
Any other idea?

I actually do like the look of Hazezon. Ramp with land searchers, and you've got colors that can give all sorts of mass boosts, and then SAND WARRIORS GO.
Lovisa Coldeyes and Bramblewood Paragon could be run to take advantage of their creature type too.

Ok, so this links leads to all the options
I think the best options are:
Adun OakenshieldAngus MackenzieArcum DagssonCommander Greven il-VecDakkon BlackbladeDarien, King of KjeldorEladamri, Lord of LeavesHazezon TamarHeidar, Rimewind MasterJovenKarn, Silver GolemLord of TresserhornMaraxus of KeldMarton StromgaldMerieke Ri BeritNicol BolasRadiant, ArchangelRofellos, Llanowar Emissary (banned)Sliver QueenVhati il-DalZirilan of the ClawZur the Enchanter
I'm inclined for Commander Greven il-Vec and Lord of Tresserhorn. What do you guys think?

Angus would be my choice. He is linked in the first comment. I also have been trying to get together an Adun oakenshield one. I just don't have the cards for a jund deck.

I have a Lord of Tresserhorn deck that is one of my main decks. I also have a Zur the Enchanter deck, but it's too damn mean for my tastes, so I don't use it much. I've always wanted to build Dakkon Blackblade, and used to run Korlash, Heir to Blackblade as a commander, until I switched it with Ghoulcaller Gisa when C14 came out.
Here are the decks, if you wanna check them out:
Zur, the Exalted
The Bruise

Ok so I'm gonna vouch for an interesting and potentially competitive commander but Shauku, Endbringer might be worth a shot if you like getting rid of all their stuff.

Zur the Enchanter and Angus Mackenzie are the ones that first come to mind. Although he is after the Urza's block, Volrath the Fallen is another pretty good one to use.
