Looking for Anti-Wrath Spells in Grixis

Commander Deck Help forum

Cards that I've already considered are Bearer of the Heavens , Revel in Riches, Chasm Skulker and Sangromancer.

Specifically, I'm looking for cards that synergize with Admiral Beckett Brass/pirates creatures.

Thanks in advance for your input!

Balthor the Defiled and Patriarch's Bidding have a chance of benefiting other people at the table, but will get most of your creatures out of the bin. Alternatively, a Rise of the Dark Realms will get you everything (I know at least one Liliana has this as their ultimate).

I like those: in fact I even have Rise of the Dark Realms and Patriarch's Bidding sideboarded, and I have Living Death in my current build, since it both wraths the board and provides recursion.

I'm really more interested in rattlesnake cards that make my opponents hesitant to use boardwipes.

ah, sorry for misunderstanding. One of my favorites is Vicious Shadows, I have it in my goblin deck and I win basically every game I can get it on the field

Here are a few suggestions for synergy regarding pirates, and leveraging against board wipes:

Use cards like Conspiracy, Xenograft and Arcane Adaptation to make everything a pirate.

Creatures to help mitigate board wipes in Grixis could include Coffin Queen (steal from the graveyard and/or exile), Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet (exile all opponent creatures that die and get zombie tokens), Mikaeus, the Unhallowed (undying), Marchesa, the Black Rose (dethrone - amazing synergy with Mikaeus), Geth, Lord of the Vault (steal from graveyard and mill), Sheoldred, Whispering One (board swinging reanimation and opponent sacrifice) and Soul of New Phyrexia (permanents become indestructible).

Artifacts and spells to help mitigate could include Eldrazi Monument (creatures are indestructible), Dictate of Erebos and Grave Pact (opponent sacrifices when your creatures die), Darksteel Plate (indestructible), Training Grounds (reduce all activated abilities of creatures noted), Paradoxical Outcome (bounce to hand and card draw for significant advantage).

I'm sure there are many more, but those were the first that came to mind. Good luck with your build.

Counterspells are good. They stop wraths.

Counterspells are probably your best, most consistent bet that have utility outside of stopping wraths

No problem, Vicious Shadows is an awesome card: thanks for the suggestion.

Cool, I had forgotten all about cards like Grave Pact and Dictate of Erebos. Changing the creature type to synergize with my deck was not something I had really considered, either.

Counterspells are fine, but it's better for me to have rattlesnake cards that accrue value over time, as opposed to spells that can only be used once.

I have to agree and say counterspells. Good old reliable counterspell, negate and maybe countersquall are the ones I recommend.
