I love playing with Rakdos and Jund sacrifice on Arena but the meta tends to make decks like that out of the reach of most casual players in paper so I'd just resigned myself to a life without cooked kitty-cats. But while I was playing with jvitag's Bad Girlfriend - Chandra's Rakdos Sac and I got a flash of inspiration to build a budget version. I tinkered and checked costs while also taking into account what I already own.

Let's get mana out of the way: I have a number of the Thriving series of lands (though I'm not sure on the specific numbers of each that I own) and in terms of value for versatility they do pretty well. I'm a little curious how trying to keep track of what they can tap for is going to look so anyone with suggestions there would be appreciated or even if there is another more versatile land out there which is also not too $$ I'd love to know!

While lands tend to be first and easiest budget cuts to make creatures can be expensive in their own right. Cards like Woe Strider, Priest of Forgotten Gods, and even Cruel Celebrant (sort of) provide a lot of utility but its utility that can be replicated at a lower paper cost. Because CC is still under $1.00 and the other similar card I know of Zulaport Cutthroat is more expensive I left a few in because they're just too powerful.

I think the place where I will lose most people is when we get to my mutate choices: Necropanther, Everquill Phoenix, and Chittering Harvester particularly those last two. Obviously panther is there to help pull back Archfiend Vessel or any lost Cauldron Familiar but Chittering Harvester's forced sacrifice also triggers Mayhem Devil meaning we can force them to get rid of a creature and then still hit them with his direct damage. Everquill Phoenix is a way to get flying on the board and to be able to get it back. I toyed with Demonic Embrace which is a card I absolutely love but EP will also be another mutate trigger for panther.

I don't think this is going to keep up with the real deal Rakdos/Jund Sacrifice but I'm hoping to be able to build one that would at least be competitive so any suggestions would be much appreciated!
