I've been thinking of building a Kaervek deck recently and this is pretty much exactly what I had in mind.

No Manabarbs though?

themindbullet Thanks for your comment. Manabarbs would be a good addition, but I would want to add in Urza's Armor first. I tried playtesting it, but ended up holding onto good cards since otherwise I would kill myself. Burning Earth was the best alternative until I get Urza's Armor

That makes sense, I've never seen Urza's Armor before. Seems like a big mana investment for something as fragile as an artifact. Maybe something like Exquisite Blood would be better so you can gain insane amounts of life to offset your own life loss. And heck, maybe even throw Sanguine Bond in there as well.

themindbullet I just changed up the deck a little, added in Manabarbs and Urza's Armor , and changed the creature base a bit. Exquisite Blood would be better, but also there are too many cards in here that prevent life gain, like Havoc Festival and Sulfuric Vortex . So it wouldn't work.

Also the reason why Urza's Armor is so good is because of things like Manabarbs and Pestilence Demon . I take no damage while damaging my enemies. It also means that Heartless Hidetsugu and a damage doubler can't kill me.

Oh, haha duh... Yeah that makes a lot more sense.

Want to make your deck alot of fun put in Grafted Exoskeleton

June 26, 2014 8:05 a.m.

KingOfGOblins Do you want Grafted Exoskeleton to be added just for the fun of infect, or for some other reason that I'm not currently seeing?

KingOfGOblins says... #8

Infect damge isany damage that creature would deal so if its equipped any time tour opponents play a spell they take poison counters so its an easy way to kill and makes your opponent really choose what they play

KingOfGOblins I would rather just use Phyresis if I had to, but Kaervek is scary enough as it is. Infect doesn't really work quite as well as you think it would. Thanks for the suggestion though.

ok man i just really like him and want to build him and i think it would be a good way to kill other players but no prob :)

Lethal Vapors wont speed games up! It makes them grind to a halt.

I would recommend Phyrexian Arena and Sensei's Divining Top because they literally win games.

Also - Grave Pact

ChiefBell The reason why I use Lethal Vapors is because my meta has lots of enchantment hate. Instead of destroying my Havoc Festival , they will normally pick Lethal Vapors first.

Also thanks for your suggestions, Phyrexian Arena and Grave Pact would both work nicely, I would probably also add in Dictate of Erebos while I'm at it.

Ashenmoor Liege and Ashenmoor Gouger seem like a good fit

I might check out Ashenmoor Liege , but Ashenmoor Gouger isn't particularly useful for this deck. Thanks for the suggestions!

I also have a Kaervek deck and I love running Possibility Storm . You'd have to tune the deck some to make Possibility Storm more useful, but it essentially counters/burns your opponent's first spell and then burns them a second time if they play the resulting spell. There is always the potential of it going sour, but that's what happens when you play with fire. :)

I'd also recommend Solemn Simulacrum and Burnished Hart for ramp.

@Ruffigan Great idea, I didn't actually think of using Possibility Storm at all, plus it still fits with the theme. I might also add in Burnished Hart , but this deck is supposed to be more of a theme deck rather than actually playable so it may not make the cut.

Nice idea, +1 from me. Concerning the early game, I think I'd try out stuff like Bottomless Pit and / or Abyssal Gatekeeper /Innocent Blood and so on. Maybe Desolation might even be an option if you want to hate on control decks even more

September 26, 2014 8:36 a.m.

lemmingllama says... #18

@chilbi Thanks for the +1. I will probably find a place for Bottomless Pit since I already have a copy and it is a fun card. The other three are fun, but not entirely on theme with the deck. I tried to find cards that either deal damage, or cards that discard cards. Desolation does fit that category, but I will have to playtest and see how it goes. I'm just worried that it would mess up my deck more so than other people's, since it has such a high CmC and all. Either way, thanks for the suggestions!

Alright, you're welcome.

Also, since you're playing Eidolon of Great Revel, Pyrostatic Pillar might be somewhat harder to kill for your opponents. Or you could even run both of them.

lemmingllama says... #21

@chilbi Thanks again. This is another card that I will find room for.

No Mercy and maybe Reign of the Pit Or you could try Dread

September 26, 2014 9:57 a.m.

lemmingllama says... #23

@venok I will likely add in No Mercy for flavour reasons if I can trade for a copy. The other two are too expensive to just have a utility effect, I need more damaging slugs rather than protection for anything CmC 4 or more.
