My newest deck with the Zendikar Rising set.

THIS DECK IS ROTATION-PROOF!

One of two decks I have made with the new Zendikar Rising expansion, and not to brag, I feel good about. This one focuses on clerics mostly, but has other types as well which we will cover later. Now the main focus of this deck is to use Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose to kill your opponents by gaining life from the multiple sources in the deck. This is your main win con, but not your only one. This deck has some +1/+1 counter building with Cleric of Life's Bond and Heliod, Sun-Crowned. So without further ado, let's get into the nitty gritty of the deck-build.

  • Archfiend's Vessel: Your're normal turn 1 1/1 w/ lifelink. The big kicker is the text ability which plays into another card which we'll cover later in this board.
  • Clackbridge Troll: What's better than a 5-drop 8/8 with haste and trample that gives you life. Yes your opponent can sac the goats and delay the troll, but you gain life in the meantime, and it's a constant threat. Nothing can stop the TROLL
  • Cleric of Life's Bond: One of the staples of this deck. Has consistent +1/+1 growth and, if played early on, will payout later. Only downside is that it doesn't have lifelink, which can be solved with Heliod, Sun-Crowned.
  • Grimdancer: Your "removal," per se. Just plop that baby down with the lifelink and deathtouch and you're good to go. Your enemies will now keep their distance.
  • Heliod, Sun-Crowned: Not something too important to the deck. Works best with Cleric of the Life's Bond to give that 10/10 lifelink, which adds a +1/+1 counter to it (if it hasn't already from life gain), and deals 10 damage to your opponent if you have Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose. Not many white creatures, so you may not be able to do much with it throughout the game, which is fine. You only really need the activated and mana ability on it.
  • Indulging Patrician: Good card to sheer off more life since you'll more than likely consistently gain 3+ life a turn. Plus it has flying and lifelink itself and it being a 1/4 makes it a good blocker.
  • Murderous Rider: An excellent addition to this deck. It has lifelink, doesn't go to your graveyard, and the adventure is excellent for a deck where your life is dispensable.
  • Nullpriest of Oblivion: Lifelink and evasion? Count me in. Plus the late game revival, too as an added bonus.
  • Orah, Skyclave Hierophant: Works best with Archfiend's Vessel, but otherwise has good-ish revival. Would be better if it was same or less CMC rather than just a lesser CMC.
  • Speaker of the Heavens: Great 1st turn choice. Lifelink & vigilance, plus the text tap ability. It's almost too good to give up.
  • Taborax, Hope's Demise: Going to be one of your main forms of card draw. The lifelink is good, but the flying is better. A good target for Heliod, Sun-Crowned.
  • Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose: Your main win con in this deck. Just play a bunch of Revitalize and with Indulging Patrician on the field, that 6 damage per Revitalize per Indulging Patrician.
  • Agadeem, the Undercrypt: Great modal "bolt" land, where life is dispensable.
  • Grimclimb Pathway: One of the best standard "dual lands". Can enter untapped and in either color, but can't tap for either color.
  • Emeria, Shattered Skyclave: Great modal "bolt" land, where life is dispensable
  • Plains: You can't not have basic lands.
  • Radiant Fountain: Easy 2 health, comes in untapped, and it's not too much of a burden as a lot of the creatures have some colorless mana.
  • Swamp: You can't not have basic lands.
  • Light of Hope: Easy & cheap life gain or counters. Plus the enchantment removal just in case.
  • Dire Tactics: Your removal, and when your life is quite dispensable, it's pretty cheap.
  • Disenchant: Gotta run some enchantment/artifact removal at least in sideboard.
  • Cling to Dust: One way to get rid of creatures with escape, or you don't want your opponent to bring back a big boi. In the end, it's a 1 drop where you either gain 3 life for exiling a creature, or just draw a card for exiling a card in a graveyard.
  • Revitalize: Good for quick life and card draw.
  • Runed Halo: May not be good overall, but can save you in times of need by shutting down your opponent's win con.
